View Full Version : The Battlefield Was His

Given

The battlefield was his from the first day to the last
I fell again and again with each stone that was cast
Rising even stronger I charged him with my best
But each time I stood, I bravely fell with the rest

He stood there in victory before it had begun
Even those times when I thought I'd won
Standing in the darkness he knew my name
For him it was triumph but for me it was shame

I do not remember just when I died
But I know God heard each time I had lied
He sent His Son to this evil land
Where the wicked were as the grains of sand

The battlefield was His from the first day to the last
And Satan fell when the last word was cast
I stood again but I was not alone
And when it was finished, Jesus took me home.
