Blessings Friends,
What a Great, spirit filled God weekend I had. I was on the Agape team for a Walk to Emmaus in Louisville this weekend. I would say that when I took the walk almost 2 years ago, I was a non-believer and the walk changed my life.
This weekend we poured Agape love all over 23 pilgrims. It was wonderful. Many of the team members and pilgrims were still without power, so the potential for worry and other feelings was high. But Satan held no power over this walk and all of us were extremely blessed.
For those who don't know, the walk to Emmaus started after the Catholic Cursillo and involves 72 hours with NO distractions. The weekend is all about you and God. No watches, cell phones pagers, electornic devices of any kind are allowed. During the weekend the pilgrims are exposed to 15 different talks given by laiety and clergy whenrein you learn about a variety of Christian topics, focusing on three main disciplines, a life of piety, study and Christian Action. The weekend is very well organized and teams form 9 or 10 weeks early to begin preparation. The weekend is bathed in prayer 24 hours a day as well.
I am working my first REC (Emmaus Walk in Prison) next month.
I can't tell you how great I feel today. God is Good!
AMEN!
