I have some websites on AOL they are shutting down our FTP and all so I will lose my sites  These are all on animal welfare and rescue...and 3 very important ones on cat and dog health issues...I made them a while back and have like ohhh 20 some thousand hits ...Two are even mentioned on other sites ...1 in a few books and magazines.....I will have to move them..Since I made them I got a new puter and no longer have the pics on my HD they are allll in my FTP sigh..when I view them they show as ART or BMP I NEED them as they show in FTP which is jpg and gif.....how do I change that? When I right click to save picture as...I get ART :B
AGAIN this is a new puter...new version of AOL and new windows version
thanks ahead

Ashly,
... Go ahead and download them in the bitmap or Gif format and save them to you HDD. After that go to www.freeserifsoftware.com and download the free version of Photo-Plus or spen Ten Dollars and download the version I used unti last year. You then can change all the images to any format you choose and you can do or learn to do Phpto-Shop work without the seven hundred dollars cost.

Ashely, search for the free FTP client, and install it on your computer.
Then use it to log on to your sites, and you can download the whole folder (whole website) on your computer.
Then you can upload the whole folder on your new host intact.
Are these are static sites or dynamic?
If these sites use database data, the you need to log in the phpMyAdmin and export your data tables.
It is not a good idea to use free hosting services for a website that you do not want to loose. The best would be to sign up with a host that facilitates all your websites and allows to point domain to each website's folder, thus you can have several websites in one hosting plan.

Hi Ash,
Here is a site where you can upload images and mean while you can choose a format to convert the image click here. (http://www.online-image-editor.com/index.cfm)
Or you can download a freeware image converter which supports Vista in here (http://www.download.com/Image-Convert-Jpg-Jpeg-Bmp-Tiff-Gif-Png-Free/3000-12511_4-10900954.html), or download it directly from [this click] (http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-12511_4-10900954&ontId=12511_4&spi=09c2b0b5d4764f3c46f9a6cb4b454182&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext<ype=dl_dlnow&pid=10900955&mfgId=6312335&merId=6312335&pguid=48rkDwoPjAEAAB8NfksAAABd&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.download.com%2F3001-12511_4-10900955.html%3Fspi%3D09c2b0b5d4764f3c46f9a6cb4b45 4182)
