By virgin birth,
He came to earth,
and with straw they made His bed.
And he was found,
with rags there wound,
just as the angel said.

To Bethlehem,
the shepherds ran,
upon this Holy night.
None noble were found,
standing around,
this meek and lowly sight.

To the temple they brought Him,
where no one sought Him,
but one old feeble man.
And that day in great glory,
so goes the story,
he held Him in his hand.

He was not desired,
nor was He admired,
by the religious of that day.
But a few broken men,
forgiven of sin,
followed Him in His way.

He trusted the story,
of God and His glory,
to these few simple men.
Of how He came to die,
and is now on high,
soon to come again!

When He arrives,
in the eastern skies,
it will be the same as when He first came.
The only ones leaving,
will be the believeing,
the ones who are called by His name.
