Each day that dawns finds me here
The air is so damp and cold
Chill soon surrounds me
And I know how much I miss you
Walking along a lonely road
So many miles from home
Dismal rain falls through the fog
And I know how much I miss you
Often at night I sleep outside
Without a blanket over me
Then the night wind moans among the trees
And I know how much I miss you
But everyday I travel on
My mind is always drifting
But soon it settles upon your name
And I know how much I miss you
