I'm so excited to start reading this book. I have problems reading the bible in the version I have it's hard. I often waste so much time rereading it cuz I don't understand the way they talk etc.
This book had the new and the old testement, psalms and a summary after each chapter to explain what you have just read. It's a great book that comes in a leather bound book. They say to start Jan 1 so good timing.
I have a few more days to go.

This is great!
I have never read through the Bible. I started last year and got to Judges
and stopped. I wanted more than just to read through the Bible, I want
references to other scriptures and my old Bible didn't have that. I've had the same Bible for 17 years. :) I got it after I got saved.
I got a new Scofield Study Bible for Christmas. What a blessing this is!
Now that I have this new study Bible, I will pick up where I left off which is in Judges.
Is your Bible you were reading a KJV ? If it is, I understand why you would have a problem understanding the way they talk. :) I stick with the KJV only because I'm afraid of maybe getting a hold of a Bible that has changed the scriptures.
Any time I don't understand a word, I just look for a definition. Such as the word wrought, which means shaped, fashioned, formed, created and so on.
I like my KJV Bible..
God bless,
CS

Heyy me too. I just bought a Finish the bible in 365 days also. Mines doesnt have the summary at the end to explain what i just read tho. But ive been enjoying it. I wonder if both our year plans are the same. Does yours start out with Genesis, then Psalms 1, and then Mark?

I think so, mine is a mint green leather bound version, it's unmarked on the cover to allow privacy, I'm on Jan 4th. Its gone from the creation, to adam and eve, to noahs ark, thats what im on now, where he's just found dry land now.
Mine doens't have a summary after all I thought it did.
This is a wonderful book, and I have the book that is like a mini companion to use, it's a artist named Ron who has realistic paintings and he paints the scenes so you can look at it etc. Fantastic.

It's been said that the best Bible version is the one we're actually going to READ and then LIVE. And so, good for you! :)

Good job on the purchase. I could never read the Bible either, until I started studying the Bible. A friend has the Life Applications study Bible. It easy to read and has alot of study notes. I agree with Dani though, reading the Bible is soooo important. Find a version you like and stick with it.

I'm also reading a One Year Bible. It is NLT, so it's a little easier to read through, but it sounds very similar. I too prefer the KJV when looking through the bible, I like the authentic sounding translation. "Beareth all things, Believeth all things, Hopeth all things, Endureth all things" is a personal favorite. But the version I have goes by date as well and each date has an excerpt from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. It also has a Companion Guide which I have considered buying to use while I read. Good luck on your journey!

I'm always excited to hear about people reading the Bible. I read the Old Testament once every year and the New Testament twice every year. Here is a link to four blog posts I've written giving tips that help me (http://blaugmenting.blogspot.com/search/label/Bible%20reading%20tips). If you need help, I hope these posts help you.
