I have a few questions about the temptation of Jesus and would be glad for the group to help me with these. First, let me post the scriptures and then the questions that I have about Jesus' temptation.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

When Jesus was tempted, was He tempted to sin? If so, did he have the capability to sin and fail His Father's plan? Could Jesus have failed? Was Jesus tempted from desires within or was He tempted from things without?

Your thoughts please.

Wow. KJV!

1. Yes he was tempted to sin. I don't know what else temptation would lead us to.
2. Yes he had the capability to sin. He was and is a Man. Otherwise He could not be tempted.
3. In theory yes He could have failed from a human standpoint, but He chose not to.
4. I'm guessing that the desires came from without. Only because He wasn't born with a sinful nature in that he does not have human blood.

Now I'm am no Theologian these are just my opinions. Just wanted to share them. I hope this helps. I'm sure others will chime in.
