1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's

"and ye are not your own for ye are bought with a price"

Our body and our spirit are God's. We are no longer 'lord' of our life. We now belong to another Lord. Jesus Christ is both Saviour and Lord.

2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

If Jesus Christ, is not our Lord, then He cannot be our Saviour. When we receive Jesus Christ, we receive Him wholy. We cannot take just some of who He is. The Lordship of Jesus Christ, is not some optional extra.

We either belong to Him, or we still belong to ourselves.

[YLT]
1Co 6:19 Have ye not known that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own,
1Co 6:20 for ye were bought with a price; glorify, then, God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

[LITV]
1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God, and you are not of yourselves?
1Co 6:20 You were bought with a price; then glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are of God.

[EMTV]
Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

[ALT]
1Co 6:19 You* know that your* body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you*, which you* have from God, and you* are not your* own, do you* not?

In practical reality, we belong both to Christ, and to ourselves. The process of sanctification involves belonging to Him more and more.

When He returns, we will belong only to Him; He will accomplish this.

Thanks SIG

Do you have scripture showing this?
