I'm looking for a verse. I'm pretty sure somewhere in the Bible it says that we are to study / observe God's creation. I've googled my brains out. Can someone help?

This comes to mind; it concerns what is referred to as "general revelation":
Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

For ask now the animals, and they will teach you [that God does not deal with His creatures according to their character]; ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth [with its other forms of life], and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare [this truth] to you.
(Job 12:7-8 Amp.)
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways and be wise!--[Job 12:7.] Which, having no chief, overseer, or ruler, Provides her food in the summer and gathers her supplies in the harvest.
Proverbs is loaded with lessons from observing creation.
