Silently she sleeps.
Softly breathing.
Sweetly dreaming.
I wonder what goes on in there;
Beneath the layers of her hair.
To her, the world is still so new;
What does she see in her slumbering view?
What occupies her resting eyes
Beneath the flaxen layers of her hair?
Does she sense her father's smile,
Or see her mother's seemly style?
Maybe, in that place of restful grace,
She welcomes the Lord's embrace.
How wonderful that dream would be;
To see Him smiling down at me.
Softly;
Sweetly;
Silently, she sleeps.

Awww bless! This is soooo beautiful. I could actually see my daughter sleeping as she did when she was still a little girl (now I'm going to cry!).
A beautiful, tender and well-written poem.

An excellent poem - thank you! I feel as if it were written to me. My wife have a 21 month old daughter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6EkzAlzxTw) (Zuriah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1REEaaLV90)), and another girl expected in July. I'm going to share this with my wife when she gets home. Bless you (and enjoy the home movies)!

Very beautifully written and excellent piece of work.
It was such a peaceful picture of a sleeping child and what they might be dreaming of.
I wonder if God feels the same way about us as he sees us asleep.
