With regards to the following scriptures, how do the children of darkness become children of light?

What does it mean to be children of darkness?

Is 42:7 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=42&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=7) To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Lk 1:79 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=42&CHAP=1&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=79) To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Is 60:1 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Is 60:2 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Is 60:3 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

God bless you!

Before our salvation we were all children of darkness. When we come to Jesus Christ, we become children of Light because He is the Light of the world.

1 Peter 2:8-10-"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.":pp

It is my understanding that in some passages "darkness" represents sin.

I'd have to study it in depth more though to give a better answer....

Thanks faithfulfriend,

With what you have said would the following scripture apply?

Rom 3:9 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=45&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=9) What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

Ahh yes, excellent.

The very next verse enhances that as well:

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Before an individual is saved, they are under sin. Thus Christ came to:

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

How very important it is that the whole world come to Christ and receive this so great Salvation. Where Christ is, there is liberty:

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

How does one become a child of Light?

One has to be Translated from the kingdom of darkness(satan's) into the Kingdom of Light or the Kingdom of His Dear Son...

is it done thru man and his inventions and man's will?

no.. but its done thru the Will of God and His Foreknowledge..its Spiritual and done under the Direction and Gudiance of the Holy Ghost..

it's being Born Again from Above...

and its done thru the Blood of Christ.. which He poured out on that bloody Tree... that His Own may be Reconciled to the Father...

Paul expressed and taught that He was transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His Dear Son...

this happened to me personally Feb 3 1994... being Born Again from Above.. thru His Will and Foreknowledge...

Jesus talked about the Light of the Body... and He warned.. when speaking to those around Him and expressly those religious leaders of His day...

saying.. TAKE HEED...about the 'light' that is within you... and that the light of the body is the 'eye'.. and if your 'eye' be whole... then the 'light' that is in you if 'real'.. but take 'heed'.. if the light that is in you.. be 'darkness'.. then how 'great' is that darkenss....

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great [is] that darkness!

there are many who claim to walk in the light of Christ.. but they are really walking in darkness.... just as the religious leaders of Jesus time accused Him and railed on Him.. they 'claimed' to be the 'chosen' of God.. the sons of Abraham.. they said the same to John the Baptizer.. but both of them rebuked them... all.. saying turn from your sin.. 'you brood of vipers'.. and bring forth Fruit worthy of Repentance...

they believed they were walking in 'light'.. but were acutally walking in great darkness...

Jesus not only heals your physical sight.. but He can and will Help you see Spiritually.. and He will help you to hear also...

Behold He standeth at the door and knocks.. if any man/woman/child... hear His Voice.. Today.. do not turn away.. or close the door on Him..

For He longs to communicate and dine with you...

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.(John 3:18-20)

Children of darkness = condemned already, having yet to received the light of Christ; not exposing themselves, and their deeds, to the light of truth.

Children of Light = no longer condemned, having received the light of Christ through faith in Jesus, exposing themselves and their deeds to the light of truth.

Darkness is translated from the Hebrew word Choshek H2822 in Isaiah 42:7. lit meaning darkness. Fig - misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow.

Darkness is translated from the Greek word Skotos G4655 in Luke 1:79 meaning shadiness. Ie. obscurity lit or fig - darkness.

If God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all, then darkness must be anywhere outside of Him.

Although I'm really glad that darkness and light are the same to Him and that He is well able to handle both.

John 8:12 "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
So of course to know Jesus as personal saviour brings one out of darkness.

Why do the unsaved continues to walk in darkness? Paul stated in II Corinthians 4:3-4
(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them.

Remember twice in the Book of Revelation God tells us that He will be the light of New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:23; 22:5)

Just as bugs are attracted to light the believers should radiate the light of Christ such as that unbelievers are attracted to it.
Matthew 5:14-16
(14) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
(15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
(16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

How can one that is walking in darkness believe they are walking in the light when it comes to doing the will of God.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Its very easy for those people.. its called spirtual blindness.. its called hardness of the heart... just look to the Pharisees of Jesus' day.. and its no different today...

they 'claimed' to be walking in the light.. but were actually children of darkness.. they believed they were doing the will of God... but were not.. they were walking in hypocricy..... claimed to be the 'chosen' of God.. sons of Abraham... Jesus called them the 'sons of satan.. brood of vipers.. impossible to escape the damnation of hell... its no different today.. and when they were walking around in 'their' light' which was actually darkness.. condemning everybody else and elevating themselves spiritually(pride).. by doing those things they were doing .. thinking it was the will of God.. but it was the will of their father, the devil.. they did not walk in humility and meekness and did not show mercy... but arrogance, spiritual pride and condemnation.... its no different today.. and they kept on in their sin.. even when Confronted by God Himself in Person.. the Person of Jesus the Christ.. God manifest in the flesh...

there are many.. and its very evident.. and one does not have to go very far... to see this in action...... there are 'many'

who say YES to God... yet they do not do His Will....

His Words are on their 'lips' but their 'hearts' are far from Him.. and these He does not 'know'.. and will not 'know' when they stand before Him in the final judgment...

by their fruits ye shall 'know' them....

Can their good works not be counted as works of light?
-----------------------------------------------------------

good works done under the canopy of spiritual darkness?

if they believe they're good works will merit the favor of God.. then you have works = Salvation

and those who are Born Again from Above .. 'know' it has been by Grace that they have been saved....

and it has already been done.. In Christ and what He accompllished on that Bloody Tree.. Faith in that... and belief in that ,Trust... = Righteousness... Jesus is the Righteousness of God.. In Him..

and Scripture declares that God has already ordained ahead of time the 'good works' a True Born Again Christian will walk in... He has them ready and prepared even before they are born again and in due time.. they will walk in them.. when He saves them.. and directs them into it...

these good works will be done In Him.. and thru Him.. it will be done from the Correct Heart Postition.. unlike those done by those in darkness.. yet believing they are walking in the light of Christ..

one must examine oneself.. and ask oneself...

the good I do.. do i do that so that everybody will notice me and say what a great Christian I am? or how holy I am...

or are they done out of the Heart of Christ under the direction of the Holy Ghost......in meekness and humility with Mercy, Forgiveness, and Compassion. these done in Truth....flowing from that vessel.... for those who are in bondage, downtrodden, those who are rejected and scorned.. despised.. etc...

God will judge the hearts of men women and children by Jesus the Christ.. and He will judge the motives on which these things are done..

and He 'knows' the motive already...

The works of the children of darkness are internal, self serving acts that do not glorify God, nor to they further His Kingdom. Their works are empty.

Children of light live a life that, due to their outward seeking of the Lord, is sublime. They make the first object of everything they do(their works), the glory of God. Their works praise Him always. The works of the children of light are their answer to the question, "What can I do to further the Kingdom of God?".

Thank you TBD,

This really edifying,

Can we according to the scriptures know that which is if of darkness and that which is of the light?

Why call me "Lord, Lord" and do not do the things that I say?

I believe the following scripture answers that question.

Jn 3:19 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=43&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

1 Jn 1:5 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=62&CHAP=1&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=5) This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 Jn 1:6 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=62&CHAP=1&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Hi FF...

Yes we can 'know' what is of darkness and what is of Light..

this is done thru Discernment.. and its done thru the Spirit....

if the Spirit of Christ is Truly in you.. then you will be able to discern what is of Darkness and What is of Light...

God reveals those things to us thru the Spirit..

we compare... and discern.. test.....

comparing Spiritual with Spiritual..

the natural man does not recieve this.. nor can he/she discern this.. its foolishness to them.. and they go on in their darkness..

but he/she that is 'spiritual' judgeth all things.. yet 'he/she' is judged of no man...

he/she that is Spiritual and have the Spirit of Christ in them.. that Spirit which raised up the body of the Lord Jesus Christ.. these will be instructed and corrected and chastised as a parent would his/her child..

and we also have His Word to go back on... We hide this in our Heart so that we may not sin against thee... its like a 'deep well' with cold water.. that we tap into when needed..

but I remind all.. satan comes as an angel of light.. and he brings scripture and false signs and wonders in order to decieve and trip up God's Saints... but be of Good Courage.. God will stand with you and give you the Wisdom and Understanding to see thru his devices..

no matter 'how real' they look like the 'real thing'....

he is like a lion waiting in the brush.. enticing.. and wooing and cooing.. then he pounces to devour..

use the Word of God against him.. and this done in Truth... and he will fee..

Darkness.... comes 'posing' or 'masquerading' as LIGHT....

and yes darkness...... has a face...

(http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=42&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=7)John Paul II, Pope [1920-2005 AD]
Homily at Regina Coeli Prison
In Isaiah's text another series of images opens the prospect of life, joy and freedom: the future Messiah will come and open the eyes of the blind and bring out the prisoners from the dungeon (cf. Is 42:7). Dear brothers and sisters, I imagine that particularly these last words of the prophet will find an immediate, hope-filled echo in your hearts. However, the message of God's Word must be accepted with its full meaning. The "dungeon" from which the Lord comes to release us is first of all the one where the spirit is chained. Sin is the prison of the spirit. In this regard, how can we forget Jesus' profound words: "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin" (Jn 8:34)? This is the slavery from which he above all came to save us. For he said: "If you continue mi my word, you are truly my disciples and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free" (Jn 8:31)

Summa Theologica
OF THE DEFECTS OF SOUL ASSUMED BY CHRIST (TEN ARTICLES)
On the contrary, Ignorance is not taken away by ignorance. But Christ came to take away our ignorance; for "He came to enlighten them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death" (Lk. 1:79). Therefore there was no ignorance in Christ.

(http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1)Is 60:2 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
(http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1)Is 60:3 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
(http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=60&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1) Newman, John Henry [1801-1890 AD]
Parochial and Plain Sermons Volume 2
Parochial and Plain Sermons - Sermon 8
The day on which we commemorate this gracious appointment of God's Providence, is called the Epiphany, or bright manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles; being the day on which the wise men came from the East under guidance of a star, to worship Him, and thus became the first-fruits of the heathen world. The name is explained by the words of the text, which occur in one of the lessons selected for today's service, and in which the Church is addressed. 'Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, {81} and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising ... FirstfruitsUltimately "yes", as far as the one doing the 'works' is concerned. Although Romans 8:28 says that ALL things work together for good...so I guess in some ways everything is profitable in the end?? Now you've got me thinking...:hmm: Maybe it would be better to say that the works of CoD are unprofitable on a stand alone basis, but do eventually become part of God's redemptive plan?? And we know that God's plan is perfect, so....hmmmm, let me get back to you.

Children of darkness do not abide in Christ, therefore they bear no good fruit...so the answer to your question is 'no', their works are not profitable. Because they do not abide in Christ, THEY CAN DO NOTHING.

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.(John 15:4-8)

yes you are correct...

Its recorded in the NT.. you have the True Light(Jesus the Christ) calling out the 'darkness' which believed and thought they were walking in the Light... sons of Abraham.. the chosen of God.. followers of Moses..(they're claim) but Jesus rebuking them... speaking to them in Truth..... calling them sons of satan... children of your father the devil... spiritually blind, and deaf.... hardness of heart.. resisting the Holy Ghost.. walking in hypocrisy, unmerciful, condemning, impossilbe to escape the damnation of hell.. spiritually proud.... murderers... Jesus called them a 'brood of vipers'.. this in relation to the 'venom'.. that spued from their 'mouth'... false accusation, lying, bearing false witness.. for what comes from the mouth, comes from the 'heart'..

yet these in their rebellion and spiritual blindness.. continued to believe they were 'walking' in the Light..

Can one 'discern' who is walking in darkness?

What did Jesus say..... the 'Light' Of the body is the _________... and if that part of your body be whole.. then you are truly walking in Light... but if that 'light' be darkness... and that part of your body be 'evil'......... then how Great is that darkness...

what did He say and 'teach' was the Light of the Body....

can darkness expose darkness? if you walk into a dark room and your flashlight has bad batteries... you turn it on.. doesnt work.. the darkness is not exposed....

but if you walk into a dark room with the 'smallest' penlight flashlight and turn it on.. and it works.. all of a sudden 'darkness' is exposed..

'True Light' Exposes...... darkness and false light that comes posing as Truth, Light, and Righteousness..

and if you have the Light of Christ in you Abiding.. and the Master Teaching you on a daily basis..

darkness will be revealed around you... and you will begin to 'see' and 'hear'...

He will help you to see and to hear..... For He is willing and He stands waiting.. and His Yoke and Burden is not great.. but light and not heavy...

darkness does have a 'face'... and it can be discerned... but it has to be done in the Correct Light... the Light that never Fades... but is Eternal.. and that is the Person of Jesus the Christ.. God manifest in the flesh..

I hope the following scripture will shed a little light on the differences.

1 John 2:7-17
7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

God bless you!

From the following scriptures we truly can discern light from darkness.

Ephesians 5:8-14
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

God bless you!

As children of Light... with the Light of Christ in them.. being Born Again from Above.. not of corruptible seed.. but of the Incorruptible.. thru the Spirit of the Living God.. thru Jesus the Christ.. God manifest in the flesh.. who is Risen from the Dead.. according to the Gospel that was delivered unto me.. this done thru the Will of God and His Foreknowledge...

children of Light... with the Person of Jesus the Christ living inside them... thru the Holy Ghost... Children of the Kingdom.. according to Jesus.. the 'good' Seed planted by the Master Himself...

would you conclude.... that.. on this planet.... you have two different 'kingdoms' .... going head to head.... Kindgoms in 'conflict' persay...

the Kingdom of Light.. represented by those Planted by Jesus the Christ Himself...

sown among the children of darkness.. represented and driven by the spirit of their father.. the devil himself... known as children of disobedience....

would you conclue that 'daily'... there is a clashing of these two kingdoms...

Is there Scriptural evidence to prove that?

and finally...

what is to finally become of the Kingdom of darkness? and its principalities and those who follow its darkness?

There are two kingdoms or people of different kingdoms, those that belong to the kingdom of Christ and those that belong to Satans kingdom on earth.

Jn 18:36 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=43&CHAP=18&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=36) Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Jn 8:42 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=43&CHAP=8&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=42) Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Jn 15:19 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=43&CHAP=15&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=19) If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

1 Jn 2:9 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=62&CHAP=2&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=9) He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

Gal 4:29 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=48&CHAP=4&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=29) But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

I hope this helps in regards to your questions.

God bless you!

I agree with what you posted... so in essense and 'reality'.. if you have the True Light of Christ in you.. you will on a daily basis come to face and face, head on...... with the kingdom of darknesss... there is no other way around it..do you discern and see this on a daily basis? Do you see Him who is Invisible standing beside you and fighting for you?

this kingdom of darkness.. with its principal ruler, satan as the god of this world.... who was judged and conquered at the Cross.....whats to become of 'this kingdom'.... this kingdom who Paul talks about.. this leader.. the god of this world...satan himself...

Does Revelation tell us anything about the current tenant and leader of this kingdom of darkness and its followers.. that are walking on this planet day by day... does it tell us anything about its future? and those who walk in it and follow it?

Will Christ eventually do away with all spiritual darkness... this done and then Light and Righteousness shall reign and rule forever without the hint of sin, death, and darkness? forever?

In essense... Will God do away with all His Enemies?

In essense... Will God do away with all His Enemies?

According to the following scripture God will do away with all His enemies.

Eph 2:2 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=49&CHAP=2&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 5:6 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=49&CHAP=5&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=6) Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Col 3:6 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=51&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=6) For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

If our works are unprofitable no matter how good they may seem there shall be no escape.

Mt 25:30 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=25&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=30) And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Lk 17:10 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=42&CHAP=17&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=10) So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Rom 3:12 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=45&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=12) They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Tit 3:9 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=56&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=9) But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Heb 7:18 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=58&CHAP=7&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=18) For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
