Enemies meet to battle in my mind
This Evil has attacked me one more time
The vile temptations placed at my feet
The terms of surrender for me to meet

Promises are given but each is a lie
Urging me to listen or to just ask why
But again it retreats into shadows of shame
When I kneel and call on my Lord's Holy Name

What a beautiful poem so full of truth. Written beautifully and I am glad you thought to share it. It reminds us that we need to pray for if we don't it is easier for us to yield to the temptation of sin.
