Scientists are very close to creating a transhuman, which will be part human, with super robotic features and maybe mixed with the DNA of animals. Could this be the beast of Revelations? This could be an indication that the Second Coming of Christ is very close - Roelof
The doubling rate of medical knowledge is three years – that is, the next three years of medical research will yield as much knowledge as has been yielded in all of human history. The next three years will double our knowledge again, and again, and so on. This exponential growth in knowledge will rapidly enable us to eradicate disease and radically improve the human condition.
Indeed, we will be able to look beyond curing the sick, towards a future in which we make ourselves more than healthy.
We will be able to enhance our memory and our intellectual capacity. We will use technology to make ourselves faster, more efficient, and radically longer-lived. We will be able to augment our physical strength, stamina, and resistance to disease. We might enhance specific skills, such as visual acuity or musical talent.
In the extreme, we will correct the molecular wear-and-tear that causes deterioration and death – reversing the aging process itself. Humans might even obtain entirely new capacities, such as infrared vision, or bat-like echolocation.
The body of thought that deals with enhancement technologies is called transhumanism. In essence, transhumanists favor using technology to enhance mental and physical human capacities.
For transhumanists, the human species is about to begin a new form of evolution. Instead of biological evolution – slow processes of survival, reproduction, and adaptation over geological time – it will be powered by technologies that will increasingly work their way inwards, radically transforming our bodies and minds.
The power of information technology doubles every year or so, a trend that has held true for over 40 years. At this rate, the price-performance power of computers will increase by a factor of one billion within the next twenty-five years, while shrinking in size by a factor of a thousand. This rapid rate of progress is not limited to computers.
The Human Genome Project relied on the same exponential growth.

I agree, this is absolutely frightening - Roelof
Tens of thousands of samples of human tissue (in the UK) will be offered for use in controversial human/animal hybrid embryo research without the consent of the patients who donated them.
New rules coming into force next month will give scientists working on stem cell research access to samples of blood and tissue collected by NHS hospitals during biopsies and treatments, as well as to giant "tissue banks" which built up stores of material before the legislation was introduced.
Ethics experts, patients' groups and churches described the change as "absolutely frightening" and liable to destroy trust among thousands who donate, whatever their views on the use of hybrid embryos for stem cell research.

If medical knowledge doubles every 3 years, I fear what unethical monsters would be created by DNA manipulation and human-animal embrios - Roelof
In a controversial achievement, Japanese scientists announced on Wednesday they had created the world's first transgenic primates, breeding monkeys with a gene that made the animals' skin glow a fluorescent green.
The exploit opens up exciting prospects for medical researchers, they said.
It could eventually lead to lab monkeys that replicate some of humanity's most devastating diseases, providing a new model for exploring how these disorders are caused and how they may be cured.

I am an electrical engineer but scientists are pushing research too far - Roelof
A ‘telepathy’ chip that allows people to control computers, televisions and light switches by the power of thought is being developed by British scientists.
The tiny sensor would sit on the surface of the brain, picking up the electrical activity of nerve cells and passing the signal wirelessly to a receiver on the skull.
The signal would then be used to control a cursor on a computer

Jesus Christ will put an end to this ridiculous race with His not too far away Second Coming - Roelof
Some futurists such as Ray Kurzweil have hypothesized that we will someday soon pass through a singularity--that is, a time period of rapid technological change beyond which we cannot envision the future of society. Most visions of this singularity focus on the creation of machines intelligent enough to devise machines even more intelligent than themselves, and so forth recursively, thus launching a positive feedback loop of intelligence amplification.
As a brain engineer, however, I think that focusing solely on intelligence augmentation as the driver of the future is leaving out a critical part of the analysis--namely, the changes in motivation that might arise as intelligence amplifies. Call it the need for "machine leadership skills" or "machine philosophy"--without it, such a feedback loop might quickly sputter out.
Indeed, a really advanced intelligence, improperly motivated, might realize the impermanence of all things, calculate that the sun will burn out in a few billion years, and decide to play video games for the remainder of its existence, concluding that inventing an even smarter machine is pointless.

Events are fast pushing Israel toward a pre-emptive military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, probably by next spring. That strike could well fail. Or it could succeed at the price of oil at $300 a barrel, a Middle East war, and American servicemen caught in between. So why is the Obama administration doing everything it can to speed the war process along?
At July's G-8 summit in Italy, Iran was given a September deadline to start negotiations over its nuclear programs. Last week, Iran gave its answer: No.
Instead, what Tehran offered was a five-page document that was the diplomatic equivalent of a giant kiss-off.
And the longer the U.S. delays playing hardball with Iran, the sooner Israel is likely to strike.

LONDON – A weakened United States could start retreating from the world stage without help from its allies abroad, an international strategic affairs think tank said Tuesday.
The respected London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies said President Barack Obama will increasingly have to turn to others for help dealing with the world's problems — in part because he has no alternative.
"Domestically Obama may have campaigned on the theme 'yes we can'; internationally he may increasingly have to argue 'no we can't'," the institute said in its annual review of world affairs.
The report said the U.S. struggles against insurgent groups in Iraq and Afghanistan had exposed the limits of the country's military muscle, while the near-collapse of the world financial markets sapped the economic base on which that muscle relied.

The scriptures used for what is called the rapture tell us that it takes place at the last trumpet;
1 Cor 15:52 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=46&CHAP=15&SEARCH=jesus%20king%20lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The last trumpet according to what is written is also known as the third woe/tribulation, the last of three tribulations. How then can the rapture take place before the tribulation?
Jesus said that his return is after the tribulation;
Mt 24:29 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=24&SEARCH=jesus%20king%20lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=29) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mt 24:30 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=24&SEARCH=jesus%20king%20lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mt 24:31 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=24&SEARCH=jesus%20king%20lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
If the rapture takes place at the last trumpet then how can the 7th trumpet be when Christ returns after the tribulation, unless there is more than one last trumpet?
So, is there more that one last trumpet according to the scriptures?
What are the scriptures used for the second coming of Christ?
God bless you!
Firstfruits
THis is a common area of discussion. IS the Last Trump referring to the 7 Trumpet Judgements? (And they are in my opinion, judgements make no mistake there) Or is it referring to a different trumpet? We know they used trumpets in the temple, and in battle, and there was even a Feast of "Trumpets", ordained by God in the OT. Also, as I understand it in the Jewish wedding it was customary to blow a trumpet or horn before the bridge groom left to gather his bride to him, and typically the bride groom would not know the day or the hour either.
It is my opinion that the symbolism in the Feast of Trumpets, and the wedding ceremony that is key in understanding when the Last Trumpet is, but not everyone believes or understands passages like that. It is certainly worthy discussing. You can never go wrong in digging into the word even if in the end you still find yourself believing the same things.

New World Order - The New Illuminati
Clem Sunter
Clem is a highly respected strategist in SA - Roelof
One of the characteristics ascribed to the shadowy group of Illuminati members, who meet once a month to decide how they are going to control the world, is immense wealth. The other is influence over governments and the media that borders on domination
Take wealth for starters. In 2007 before the crash, two of the highest paid CEOs in the world were an American and British banker, each one of whom was paid nearly half a billion rand (US75 million) for one year's work
Let's now turn to government. For me it is amazing that no action has been taken against any bank for reckless trading, even though depositors' money was being used to buy derivatives which turned out to be devoid of value.
The recent G20 meeting kicked any idea of a claw-back provision for future misdemeanours of this nature into touch. Bankrupting the bank still incurs no penalty whatsoever.
But it's the behaviour of the overseas financial media that convinces me that there is something fishy going on. The line taken is that bankers in no way could have prepared for this once-in-a-century event. Indeed, it wasn't foreseeable.
So there you have it. They probably don't meet secretly in locations worthy of a James Bond novel. Nor are they really worthy of the appellation "Illuminati" which is Latin for "The Enlightened". Yet they have the power, they have the money and they have the connections. That's why I call them the New Illuminati.

THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT & THE WORKS OF THE FLESH
If you are a reborn Christian, the Holy Spirit lives in you, the Fruit of the Holy Spirit will be clearly visible in your live.
If you are not a reborn Christian, the Holy Spirit will not live in you and the Works of the Flesh will be visible in your live.
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT:
But the fruit of the Spirit is:
love,
joy,
peace,
long-suffering,
kindness,
goodness,
faith, (Gal 5:22)
meekness, (showing mildness or quietness of nature)
self-control;
against such things there is no law. (Gal 5:23)
WORKS OF THE FLESH:
Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are:
adultery, (voluntary sexual relations between a married person and somebody other than his or her spouse)
fornication, (sexual intercourse between two consenting adults who are not married to each other)
uncleanness,
lustfulness, (Gal 5:19)
idolatry, (the worship of idols or false gods; excessive admiration or love shown for somebody or something)
sorcery, (the supposed use of magic)
hatreds,
fightings,
jealousies,
angers,
rivalries,
divisions,
heresies, (Gal 5:20) (an opinion or belief that contradicts established religious teaching, especially one that is officially condemned by a religious authority)
envyings,
murders,
drunkennesses,
revelings, (to have an enjoyable time in the company of others, especially at a party)
and things like these; of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:21)

Dangerous because it will inevitably go too far and could take down banks and banking systems globally.
If and when China makes its currency convertible and opens its financial system the stage will be set for a bubble that should make the dotcom and housing booms look tame.
China has recently signaled its key aspirations: for a greater international role for the renminbi and for Shanghai to become a great financial capital. Neither is imminent, but both imply, if not require, a series of steps that, taken in combination with China's legitimately great potential for growth, could lead to a bubble of magnificent and dangerous proportions.

The most recent stop on America’s surrender tour came yesterday, when President Obama scrapped plans for a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe. The original plan, established by President Bush in 2007, was designed to protect America’s European allies against the threat of an Iranian missile attack. In defending the latest policy of appeasement, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that Iran’s long-range missile threat is “not as immediate” as the United States once thought.
Yet, in April, two months after Iran launched a satellite into space, it successfully launched (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=bd2_1242832725) its Sejil-2 missile, which has a range of about 1,200 miles—meaning the outskirts of Europe is now well within reach (http://www.globalpolitician.com/25640-ncri-mek-pmoi-iran) of the world’s number-one state sponsor of terror. It’s difficult to imagine a threat being any more immediate than that.

Global regulation will put Europe, not the U.S., in the lead.
US. President Barack Obama (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-President-on-Financial-Rescue-and-Reform-at-Federal-Hall/) says he wants to increase global financial regulation.
In a speech to U.S. finance firms in New York on Monday, he spoke about the need for greater regulation from the government and greater responsibility from business in order to prevent another financial meltdown. “[W]e’re proposing the most ambitious overhaul of the financial regulatory system since the Great Depression,” he said.
But global regulation is not the answer for the United States. At the G-20 summit in London, Europe took the lead in regulating the financial markets. According to draft regulations (http://www.spiegel.de/international/business/0,1518,648107,00.html) obtained by Germany’s Süddeutsche Zeitung, the European Union is poised to set up three powerful supervisory bodies that could intervene when they don’t think national regulatory bodies are doing enough.
The G-20 meeting established the Financial Stability Board (FSB) as the eventual global regulatory body. The FSB is very much under European, and even Vatican, control.

Iran hopes for a new world order
Has Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won his first diplomatic victory since his disputed re-election last June?
Last Thursday, Tehran presented what it called "an updated package" as the basis for fresh negotiations with the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany (5+1).
The second reason why Ahmadinejad could claim victory is that he has managed to engage the major powers on a range of issues, the very discussion of which could create the impression that Iran is being accepted as a partner in creating "a new global order".

The United Nations needs to be reformed and plenty of ideas are being floated, but what the international body really needs is selfless dedication to the common good, according to the Holy See's permanent observer.
Archbishop Celestino Migliore talked today with Vatican Radio about bringing the United Nations back to a position of relevance on the international scene.
The Holy See's representative also referred to a world authority capable of addressing the problems of the international community, which Benedict XVI defends in "Caritas in Veritate."
He explained that the encyclical calls for the United Nations as a public authority capable of guaranteeing a social order at the world level.

The world is not ready yet to use an implanted RFID chip for payments, but the Final Antichrist will enforce it on billions of people. Keep your eyes on the Return of Christ after the Great Tribulation - Roelof
Final Tribulation - Pay with a wave of your hand?
It’s a simple concept, really: You inject a miniature radio frequency identifier the size of a grain of rice between your thumb and forefinger and, with a wave of your hand, unlock doors, turn on lights, start your car or pay for your drinks at an ultrachic nightspot.
The problem is, the whole concept is a little geeky for most of us, nauseating for some, Orwellian for a few and even apocalyptic for a smattering of religious fundamentalists.
The implanted tag — a passive RFID device consisting of a miniature antenna and chip containing a 16-digit identification number — is scanned by an RFID reader. Once verified, the number is used to unlock a database file, be it a medical record or payment information. Depending upon the application, a reader may verify tags at a distance of 4 inches up to about 30 feet (10 m).
The RFID implant has been around for more than 20 years. In its earliest iteration, it provided a convenient way to keep track of dogs, cats and prized racehorses. Few took note or voiced much concern.
Then, in 2002, Applied Digital Solutions (now Digital Angel) of Delray Beach, Fla., deployed to its foreign distributors a beta version of its patented VeriChip technology for human use. Two years later, the VeriChip became the first subcutaneous RFID chip to receive FDA approval as a Class 2 medical device.
Web sites sprouted like mushrooms, accusing VeriChip of being the biblical “mark of the beast” predicted in the Book of Revelations as a foreshadowing of the end of the world.
CEO Scott Silverman was equally vilified as being tied to Satan or, worse, Wall Street. Big Brother was surely coming, though he’d have to get pretty close to read your implant. Claims that the tags cause cancer based on lab rat tests upped the amps of outrage.
My business group is just smart cards, and I never forget that although we make money with smart cards, the bills are paid with mag stripe cards. As backwards and old-fashioned as they are, that is still the bulk of what the transactions are going to be in America for a very long time.”

But the fruit of the Spirit is:
love,
joy,
peace,
long-suffering,
kindness,
goodness,
faith, (Gal 5:22)
meekness, (showing mildness or quietness of nature)
self-control;
against such things there is no law.
(Gal 5:21)
Those are works of the flesh, with the exception of revelings. Why would having a good time with other people be bad?

IT was supposed to be the week President Barack Obama saved the world. More than 100 heads of state are preparing to descend on New York for talks on halting climate change, promoting nuclear disarmament, defeating terrorism in Pakistan and tackling poverty in sub-Saharan Africa
— all before a G20 meeting in Pittsburgh on Friday aimed at reaching agreements on global financial regulation and curbing bankers’ bonuses.
The headline-grabber was expected to be the relaunch of the stalled Middle East peace process, to be followed a week later by America’s first direct talks with Iran since the Islamic revolution in 1979.
Instead, attempts to revive talks between Israelis and Palestinians, the cornerstone of the administration’s foreign policy, have failed so far. Western diplomats say it will take all the president’s considerable charisma to revive them

Middle-aged male smokers with high cholesterol and blood pressure die, on average, a decade sooner than peers without any of these heart disease risk factors, according to a study published on Friday.
Many studies have shown that not smoking, eating healthily and exercising cut heart disease rates.
But few have tackled the problem from the other end: to what extent is life expectancy shortened by having these heart disease risk factors?
To find out, researchers from Oxford University sifted through data from 19,000 male civil servants who were examined in the late 1960s when they were 40 to 69 years old.

The Lord has warned California many times on the gay issue. Do not be surprised when He starts with real judgment and punishment - Roelof
A homosexual advocacy initiative claims that over 250 California schools have registered to show their students a curriculum of films that encourages teens to rethink their sexuality, society and even religion.
The curriculum includes videos made by a San Francisco group calling itself "the best in LGBT media," and includes a clip in which a boy "comes out" by wearing his mother's bikini and another that uses Native American spirituality to depict bisexual individuals as "two-spirit" people.
The accompanying discussion guides also encourage students to evaluate their religious traditions based on whether they encourage "choice" in sexuality or "reinforce gender expectations."
The program, called "Youth in Motion: Empowering students through LGBTQ film," is a joint effort between the Gay-Straight Alliance Network and Frameline, which describes itself as a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media arts.
"Our goal is to give student activists and teachers new tools to educate their peers about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender history and culture (and have fun doing it!)," states the curriculum's website (http://frameline.org/youthinmotion/index.html).

'Respect' proposal has nearly 100 members of Congress endorsing homosexuality
Nearly 100 members of the U.S. House are working in lockstep with the Obama administration to try to eliminate protections for traditional marriage in the United States with the "Respect for Marriage Act" that has just been introduced in Congress.
H.R. 3567 was introduced just days ago by [/URL]U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, and more than 90 co-sponsors.
"This legislation would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), a 1996 law which discriminates against lawfully married same-sex couples," Nadler said in a statement on his website. The proposal has been assigned to committee.
"The 13-year-old DOMA singles out legally married same-sex couples for discriminatory treatment under federal law, selectively denying them critical federal responsibilities and rights, including programs like social security that are intended to ensure the stability and security of American families," his statement continued.
"The introduction of the Respect for Marriage Act responds directly to a call from President Obama for congressional action on the issue. As the president recently confirmed: 'I stand by my long-standing commitment to work with Congress to repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act. It's discriminatory, it interferes with states' rights, and it's time we overturned it," the statement said.

pres Obama pushing for a New World Order - Roelof
WASHINGTON/BERLIN (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama (http://www.reuters.com/news/globalcoverage/barackobama) said on Sunday he would push world leaders this week for a reshaping of the global economy in response to the deepest financial crisis in decades.
In Europe, officials kept up pressure for a deal to curb bankers' pay and bonuses at a two-day summit of leaders from the Group of 20 (http://bibleforums.org/news/globalcoverage/G20) countries, which begins on Thursday
Without naming specific countries, the proposal indicates the United States should save more and cut its budget deficit, China should rely less on exports and Europe should make structural changes -- possibly in areas such as labor law -- to make itself more attractive to investment.
To head off reluctance from China, Froman's letter also supported Beijing's call for developing countries to have more say at the International Monetary Fund.
The IMF would be at the center of a peer review process that would assess member nations' policies and how they affect economic growth

Seventy years ago Sigmund Freud’s doctor helped him to die. Now more and more of us want that same final choice
Seventy years ago today, a quarter of a mile from where I am writing, Sigmund Freud’s doctor, Max Schur, administered a third and final shot of morphine to his celebrated patient. The previous day Freud, suffering from a terminal recurrence of the jaw cancer that had cost him half his palate, and smelling so badly that his beloved dog would come nowhere near him, reminded the doctor of an earlier conversation.
Tomorrow, also September 23, after the Debbie Purdy case, the Director of Public Prosecutions is expected to publish new draft guidelines about the circumstances under which it might prosecute those who assist (as Schur and Anna Freud did) someone to commit suicide. Except that these new guidelines will apply only to those who travel to a jurisdiction where assisted suicide is legal. In Britain it is not. Seven decades later the actions of Freud’s doctor and beloved daughter — actions occasioned by compassion and love — will still be illegal.

US Navy missile ships started arriving in Israel on Sunday ahead of next month's joint missile defense exercise between the IDF and the American military's European Command.
Called Juniper Cobra, the exercise will include the Arrow missile defense system as well as three American systems - the THAAD, Aegis and PAC3 - that will all be deployed in Israel for the duration of the exercise.
Defense officials said the exercise would not begin for a few weeks, but that the ships were already arriving to begin preparing the infrastructure for the joint drill, the largest since Israel and the US began holding the biennial Juniper Cobra drill in 2001.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe . This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States is the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.
The Europe you know is changing.
All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen.
Mosques stand on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read.
There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe. With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region.
Non-Muslim women routinely hear “whore, whore.”

Building a New World Order, brick by brick - Roelof
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Leaders from some of the largest Western powers rallied support Tuesday behind a U.S. plan to build a more balanced global economy and warned against returning to business as usual once recovery takes hold.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said there was substantial backing among the Group of 20 (http://bibleforums.org/news/globalcoverage/G20) nations for creating a new framework to shrink surpluses in export-rich countries such as China and boosting savings in debt-laden nations including the United States.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper also supported the idea of a rebalanced global economy, to be monitored by the International Monetary Fund, saying world growth can no longer hinge solely on "overextended" U.S. consumers

While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu emerged from his meeting with US President Barack Obama and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday saying that the Palestinians had dropped their preconditions for negotiations, and that the discussion now centered on the framework of the talks, Abbas himself announced that nothing less than an Israeli withdraw to the 1967 borders would enable resuming peace talks.
The questions being dealt with now, Netanyahu said at a press briefing with Israeli reporters, were "how the discussions will be held, within what framework and how they will be characterized."

U.S. to push for new economic world order at G20
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States will urge world leaders this week to launch a new push in November to rebalance the world economy, but there are doubts national governments will bow to external advice.
A document outlining the U.S. position ahead of the September 24-25 Group of 20 (http://bibleforums.org/news/globalcoverage/G20) summit in Pittsburgh said exporters, which include China, Germany and Japan, should consume more, while debtors like the United States ought to boost savings.

The USS America is sinking—and Japan is getting off while it can.
For over 50 years, one party ruled Japan virtually uninterrupted. During that time, Japan remained a loyal ally and supporter of U.S. policy. This month, a historic event took place.
Japan has new leadership. In a landslide victory, a new party has done the seemingly impossible. A new freshman class of leaders now governs the Land of the Rising Sun. The effects are already rippling across the Pacific toward America.
Yukio Hatoyama is Japan’s new leader. He officially took office last Wednesday, and he is already threatening to split with the United States (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/6174814/Incoming-Tokyo-government-threatens-split-with-US.html).
Hatoyama (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/6174814/Incoming-Tokyo-government-threatens-split-with-US.html) blames America for the global economic crisis and says that the U.S. is responsible for “the destruction of human dignity.” He campaigned on protecting traditional Japanese economic activities and reducing U.S.-led globalization.
Japan is the world’s second-largest economy. It is also America’s second-most-important creditor. The U.S. government owes Japan over $724 billion (http://www.treas.gov/tic/mfh.txt)! The only nation America owes more money to is China ($800 billion). The U.S. also imports $140 billion (http://dataweb.usitc.gov/scripts/cy_m3_run.asp) worth of goods from Japan each year.
If Japan were to follow through with its threat to only lend in yen, the dollar would probably fall hard. What would that mean? America gets more expensive consumer goods, higher unemployment, and currency inflation. If other nations like China follow suit, we would be looking at a currency crisis—Zimbabwe-style.
On Wednesday, an even bigger torpedo hit. Both U.S. and Japanese officials confirmed (http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=64776) that discussions were underway to remove all U.S. fighter aircraft from Japan.
At a time when China is increasingly challenging American authority in the East and South China Sea, when North Korea is brandishing nuclear weapons, and Islamic terrorism is on the upswing in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, America can ill afford to lose Japanese military and logistical support.
But it is losing it.
Creating a new anti-dollar regional Asian currency shared by China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
America is about to become perilously isolated.

Sydney residents woke up to an ethereal scene on Wednesday
A storm which blew in from the Australian outback blanketed Sydney in a layer of orange dust. Here, residents describe the bizarre and frightening scene.
Tanya Ferguson said the dust was the weirdest thing she had seen in her life, turning the city into a scene from another planet.
"It was like being on Mars," she told the BBC News website.
"I haven't been there, obviously, but I imagine that's what the sky would look like."

From Nelson’s New Illustrated Bible Dictionary:
THE GREAT TRIBULATION— a short but intense period of distress and suffering at the end of time. The exact phrase, “the great tribulation,” is found only once in the Bible (Rev. 7:14). The great tribulation fulfills Daniel’s prophecies (Daniel 7–12). It will be a time of evil from false christs and false prophets (Mark 13:22) when natural disasters will occur throughout the world.

JERUSALEM, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- When Israeli and Palestinian negotiators meet U.S. special envoy George Mitchell for more talks next week, it is by no means clear what they will be discussing. Tuesday's tripartite meeting between U.S., Israeli and Palestinian leaders left many questions unanswered.
The U.S. President Barack Obama's administration did make plain one thing that had not been obvious until Tuesday: It did not see its demand for an Israeli settlement construction freeze as "a precondition" to the resumption of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

New world currency order starts to unfold
Appropriately straddling the turn of the 21st century, the “borrowed” consumer decade of 1997–2007 may come to be regarded as the fin de siecle, marking a critical juncture in the drift away from the US dollar hegemony that has dominated the international financial system since the Bretton Woods regime ended in 1971.
Instead, we are on the road to a new, multilateral currency order.
Today, after almost 25 years of deficits, the US is the world’s largest debtor with little chance of shrinking that debt without significant further real depreciation of its currency.

Those are works of the flesh, with the exception of revelings. Why would having a good time with other people be bad?
Hi, IamRyan and Roelof! The word "revelings" is denoting a very negative type of having a good time with other people. It involves what we would term as "partying" in today's lingo. Another great word for it is carousing. There is an aspect of boisterous, nothing-is-sacred, anything-goes, drinks-all-around type of spirit with this.
I think the Lord blesses us with friends that we can enjoy having good times with, and I am so glad of that. It is a wonderful thing to laugh and celebrate happiness together! Thankfully, the word "revelings" has a far different meaning in this Scriptural passage.

Palestinians from both Hamas and Fatah criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's speech at the UN on Thursday in which he addressed a UN report that concluded the organization's investigation into Israel's most recent campaign in the Gaza Strip after denouncing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his international supporters.
"Netanyahu spoke of the Holocaust but Israel committed the largest massacre of the century," Army Radio quoted a Hamas spokesperson as saying in reference to Operation Cast Lead.

I pray that abortions did not increase as a counter measure - Roelof
If the sidewalks seem less clogged with Bugaboo strollers these days and you can't remember the last time you had to diaper a doll at a baby shower, it's not your imagination or fuzzy memory. Birth rates in the U.S. fell 2% in 2008, the biggest drop in nearly four decades, and that trend is expected to continue. A new study out Sept. 23 from the Guttmacher Institute suggests that the timing is not a coincidence; the recession may be to blame, as women factor economic anxieties into their decision about having children.

The anarchists came to Pittsburgh to prepare to disrupt the G-20 summit. They quickly saw signs that made them believe that someone, or some entity, was prepared for them too. "Obviously, repression has already started," Pittsburgh anarchist Alex Bradley told a gathering of anti-authoritarians — the Pittsburgh G-20 Resistance Project — in a closed-door meeting on Sept. 20. Members of the group say they have been followed, photographed, stopped and searched in the run-up to their protests of the Group of 20 meeting of the world's leading economic powers on Sept. 24 and 25. The 40 people in the room were urged to write local lawyers' phone numbers on their bodies in case of arrest.

Panta rhei. Everything flows.
This Greek aphorism often comes to mind when I think of the economic and political changes in my lifetime. They seemed as impossible before they occurred as they have felt natural in retrospect. Communism fell. Germany was united. The United States elected a black man president. And now we are in a phase in which Asia is catching up with the West and American hegemony is being challenged.
Indeed, in the first four months of this year, China became the world's leading goods exporter, overtaking Germany, the previous champion.
Although China accounts for 20 per cent of the world's population, its share of global GDP currently is only 7 per cent.
By contrast, the United States and the European Union account for 54 per cent of global GDP, despite having only 12 per cent of the world's population.
From 1995 to 2008, China's economy grew by 229 per cent, while the world economy grew by 63 per cent, the U.S. by 45 per cent, and the 27-member EU by only 37 per cent.
Yet China will undoubtedly become the world's largest economic power in the foreseeable future.
The proportion of people living below the World Bank's poverty line of $1.25 a day shrank from 52 per cent in 1981 to only 25 per cent in 2005. More than 50 per cent of the world's population is now considered middle class
Since the world will not continue to provide the U.S. with goods in exchange for dubious financial securities, Americans will have to leave their dream world. They will have to brace themselves for an extensive period of diminished expectations that will last much longer than the next economic boom, and that will require substantial structural changes in the U.S. economy.

It sounds like a scene from a James Bond movie. Western intelligence agents scouring Iran for a secret nuclear site, big enough to make a bomb but small enough to hide, identified some suspicious tunnels in a mountain complex outside the holy city of Qom.
The Iranians were preparing to operate as many as 3,000 centrifuges, cylindrical devices that spin at high speed to enrich uranium. They were of a type called P1 because they come from Pakistan and could produce enough fuel each year for one small nuclear bomb.
The suspicion now is that Iran may have been hiding other nuclear facilities.

American and Israeli military planners have been examining options for an attack on Iran for almost three decades. There is no shortage of possible targets: Iran has dozens of nuclear-related sites that are known to western officials.
Yet military experts in Washington and Tel Aviv acknowledge that a surprise airstrike would be likely to succeed only in delaying Iran’s development of nuclear weapons. It would also present daunting logistical and political challenges with no guarantee that even a sustained assault on known facilities would eradicate Tehran’s nuclear threat.
The three likeliest targets for an Israeli attack are reactors at Bushehr and Arak and a centrifuge production facility at Natanz. All are 1,000 miles or more from Israel, at the outer operating margins of Israeli air force bombers.
Yet the real problem for military planners is that no outside agency has a clear idea of where else Iran may have hidden its weapons-related technologies, notably the long-range missiles that might one day deliver nuclear warheads.
“It is doubtful that even the US knows all the potential targets,” said Cordesman. “They may now be in too many places for an Israeli strike to destroy Iran’s capabilities.”

The False Prophet is smiling - Roelof
First-ever polls comparing conservative and progressive activists are revealing to what degree these groups diverge when it comes to issue priorities, issue positions, and beliefs about scripture.
While the majority of both groups say religion is important in their lives, for example, they have strikingly different beliefs about scripture. Nearly half of conservatives (48 percent) believe scripture to be the literal word of God, while only three percent of progressives shared the same view, according to the 2009 Religious Activist Surveys conducted by the Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at the University of Akron in partnership with Public Religion Research.
While the vast majority of conservatives identify abortion (http://www.christianpost.com/us/topics/abortion) (83 percent) and same-sex marriage (65 percent) as the most important priorities among eight issues listed in the surveys, less than 10 percent of progressive religious activists called abortion and same-sex marriage the “most important” issues.
Instead, progressive activists identify poverty (http://www.christianpost.com/us/topics/poverty) (74 percent), health care (67 percent), environment (56 percent), jobs/economy (48 percent), and the Iraq war (45 percent) as the highest priorities.
On abortion, nearly all conservative religious activists opposed legalization of the practice (95 percent). In sharp contrast, the overwhelming majority of progressive religious activists support some form of legal abortions (80 percent). Twenty-six percent of progressives say abortion should be legal in all cases and 54 percent say it should be legal in most cases.
Regarding same-sex marriage, conservatives overwhelmingly (82 percent) oppose both same-sex marriage and civil unions. By contrast, 59 percent of progressives support same-sex marriage, and a third say the law should recognize legal agreements between same-sex couples but define marriage as a union between a man and woman.

Pressure, be it gentle or severe, will not erase that nuclear program. The choices are now what they ever were: an American or an Israeli strike, which would probably cause a substantial war, or living in a world with Iranian nuclear weapons, which may also result in war, perhaps nuclear, over a longer period of time.
The Iranian regime wants nuclear weapons and has invested vast sums to get both the devices and the means to deliver them. The Russians and Chinese have made soothing murmurs of disapproval but have repeatedly made it clear that they will not go along with measures that would cripple the Iranian economy (and deprive them of markets).
An Israeli strike may set back the Iranian program by some short period of time. What the Israelis can do is unclear: They play their tactical cards close to their vest, and they would take different approaches, and accept different risks, than the U.S. Air Force would.
An American attack would be more effective, but it would take longer and probably lead to real warfare in the Persian Gulf, disrupting oil supplies and producing global responses.
That leaves living with an Iranian bomb. But this too has enormous hazards. It will engender—it has already quietly engendered—a nuclear arms race in the region. It will embolden the Iranian regime to make much more lethal mischief than it has even now. In a region that respects strength, it will enhance, not diminish, Iranian prestige. And it may yield the first nuclear attack since 1945 some time down the road.
It is, therefore, in the American interest to break with past policy and actively seek the overthrow of the Islamic Republic. Not by invasion, which this administration would not contemplate and could not execute, but through every instrument of U.S. power, soft more than hard.

It is unprecedented in American counterterrorism annals: In one day the nation was dealing with three separate jihadist plots to blow up civilian and other targets inside the homeland. Although the FBI and other agencies addressed the cases at different time periods, the thickening web of terror attempts nevertheless breached the crossing line of U.S. national security.
This week, authorities revealed three conspiracies by American jihadists: Michael C. Finton, 29, who wished to follow American-born Taliban John Walker Lindh, was arrested after trying to detonate what he thought was a bomb inside a van outside a federal courthouse in Springfield, Ill. Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, a 19-year old Jordanian national, was arrested after placing what he believed was a bomb at a downtown Dallas skyscraper.

The plan to put Paris and Berlin back at the heart of the stalled European Union covers defence, immigration, a new industrial policy and a drive to loosen what the pair see as Britain’s grip on the European Commission.

"We have enough votes," PLO Ambassador to the UN in Geneva Ibrahim Khraishi told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday, a day after the council held a six-hour debate on the conclusions of the four-person UN fact-finding mission that investigated Operation Cast Lead, Israel's military action in Gaza.

There seems to be a pattern of ever increasing earthquakes of great intensity.
It seems there are more and more earthquakes coming with greater and greater power. It is as if the world is now starting to have labor pains before the Great Tribulation and the glorious Second Coming of the Lord Jesus.

Boston University economics professor Laurence Kotlikoff says the government “is going broke.”
In a Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Review article, he points out that bankruptcy is usually defined as an inability to pay interest on current debt, with no prospect of being able to pay without changes in circumstances.
In assessing whether the United States is bankrupt, Kotlikoff drops the first half of the definition, The New York Times reports.
He instead looks at whether Uncle Sam can pay all of its future obligations under reasonable assumptions. The conclusion: probably not.
Kotlikoff cites a paper written by economists Kent Smetters and Jagdeesh Gokhale in 2002. They estimated the gap between all the government’s expected liabilities and its probable revenue at about $60 trillion, depending on the assumptions.

The dollar's status as the world's reserve currency has given the U.S. prestige and privileges that are unique in the world, lifting living standards by enabling Americans to borrow cheaply and consume far more than they produce with little consequence for decades.

Padang - Dazed Asian countries reeled from the full force of nature's fury on Thursday with thousands feared dead in a rapid-fire onslaught of earthquakes, tsunamis and typhoons.
Rescuers picked through rubble after a huge quake struck Indonesia and a towering tsunami deluged the Samoan islands, while millions of flood-hit storm survivors in Southeast Asia braced for a new super-typhoon.
Fresh panic hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra, where another powerful quake hit the day after Wednesday's 7.6-magnitude disaster, sending traumatised residents fleeing their homes.
"Our prediction is that thousands have died," Health Ministry crisis centre head Rustam Pakaya said.

During a day of high-stakes talks at an 18th-century villa in Geneva, including the highest-level meeting between Iran and the US in nearly three decades, Tehran agreed in principle to a deal that would take most of its stockpile of nuclear fuel out of the country, diminishing the risk of its diversion to a suspected weapons programme.

The greatest leverage Russia has over the United States in foreign policy revolves around the Iranian nuclear crisis. That is why Russia continues to block any moves by the United Nations to impose harsh sanctions on Iran and why President Barack Obama’s strategy to use the UN framework to solve the crisis is doomed to fail.
The closest that Russia came to supporting the idea was after Iran announced on September 25 to the UN that it is building a second nuclear reactor. After the announcement, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the second plant (http://en.rian.ru/world/20090925/156256286.html) was “a source of grave concern,” but he fell far short of supporting actual sanctions.

Out of all the dust and drama of the past fortnight’s struggle with Iran, I’d say the score is one point for diplomacy — and two points for Iran, in buying yet more time to advance its half-secret nuclear work. But Iran has again proved world-class at spinning the West’s red lines and deadlines into more months in which to move its work forward.

The most widely touted outcome of last week's Geneva talks with Iran was the "agreement in principle" to send approximately one nuclear-weapon's worth of Iran's low enriched uranium (LEU) to Russia for enrichment to 19.75% and fabrication into fuel rods for Tehran's research reactor. President Barack Obama says the deal represents progress, a significant confidence-building measure.
In fact, the agreement constitutes another in the long string of Iranian negotiating victories over the West. Any momentum toward stricter sanctions has been dissipated, and Iran's fraudulent, repressive regime again hobnobs with the U.N. Security Council's permanent members. Consider the following problems:

California is under the judgment of our Lord for liberal gay and abortion laws - Roelof
California (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/california) has a special place in the American psyche. It is the Golden State: a playground of the rich and famous with perfect weather. It symbolises a lifestyle of sunshine, swimming pools and the Hollywood dream factory.
But the state that was once held up as the epitome of the boundless opportunities of America has collapsed. From its politics to its economy to its environment and way of life, California is like a patient on life support. At the start of summer the state government was so deeply in debt that it began to issue IOUs instead of wages. Its unemployment rate has soared to more than 12%, the highest figure in 70 years.
Desperate to pay off a crippling budget deficit, California is slashing spending in education and healthcare, laying off vast numbers of workers and forcing others to take unpaid leave. In a state made up of sprawling suburbs the collapse of the housing bubble has impoverished millions and kicked tens of thousands of families out of their homes. Its political system is locked in paralysis and the two-term rule of former movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/arnold-schwarzenegger) is seen as a disaster – his approval ratings having sunk to levels that would make George W Bush blush. The crisis is so deep that Professor Kevin Starr, who has written an acclaimed history of the state, recently declared: "California is on the verge of becoming the first failed state in America."

Earthquakes up to magnitude 5.2 struck Friday evening in a remote area of eastern California that was been shaken by a sequence of temblors a day earlier.
Inyo County sheriff's dispatcher Carol Drew said no damage or injuries were reported, but the department received several calls about the quakes.
The quakes' epicenters were just southeast of the town of Lone Pine in the arid Owens Valley below the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada, about 180 miles north of Los Angeles.
"It's a very robust sequence," said California Institute of Technology seismologist Anthony Guarino.
The 5.2 quake occurred at 6:15 p.m. at a very shallow depth and was preceded by tremors of 4.7 and 4.9 in a six-minute span, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.

Hi, Roelof and Partaker of Christ! Here is an interesting article that says the report of Ahmadinejad being born to a Jewish family is true, according to Britain's intelligence service. Israel is not playing the game anymore, expect war with her neighbors and the PA - Roelof
Israel’s Foreign Minister has ruled out any permanent peace deal for years to come, even as the US envoy to the region called for a swift resumption of peace talks.
Instead of pushing for a final status agreement that would create a Palestinian state, Avigdor Lieberman, the head of the far-right Yisrael Beitenu party, said that the two sides should aim for a series of interim accords.
“What is possible to reach is a long-term intermediate agreement ... that leaves the tough issues for a much later stage,” Mr Lieberman said before the latest visit by George Mitchell, the US envoy appointed this year by President Obama.

With police mobilizing to secure Jerusalem following days of Palestinian rioting, it is instructive to offer some context for clashes that have been taking place on the Temple Mount and at scattered sites throughout east Jerusalem.
On Sunday, Palestinian protesters hurled rocks and bottles at police after Israel barred men between the ages of 18 and 45 from ascending the site. That restrictive order was imposed in response to Palestinian Authority calls for Arabs to flood the holy site to protect Al-Aksa Mosque from so-called Jewish extremists.

This article ties the weakening of the San Andreas fault to the 7.6 Lander's California quake which ruptured on June 28, 1992. This is so significant because June 28, 1992, was Gay Pride Day!
San Andreas Affected By 2004 Sumatran Quake; Largest Quakes Can Weaken Fault Zones Worldwide
U.S. seismologists have found evidence that the massive 2004 earthquake that triggered killer tsunamis throughout the Indian Ocean weakened at least a portion of California's famed San Andreas Fault.
The results, which appear this week in the journal Nature, suggest that the Earth's largest earthquakes can weaken fault zones worldwide and may trigger periods of increased global seismic activity.
"An unusually high number of magnitude 8 earthquakes occurred worldwide in 2005 and 2006," said study co-author Fenglin Niu, associate professor of Earth science at Rice University.
Earthquakes are caused when a fault fails, either because of the buildup of stress or because of the weakening of the fault. The latter is more difficult to measure.
The magnitude 9 earthquake in 2004 occurred beneath the ocean west of Sumatra and was the second-largest quake ever measured by seismograph. The temblor spawned tsunamis as large as 100 feet that killed an estimated 230,000, mostly in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand.
The team zeroed in on a set of repeating microearthquakes that occurred near Parkfield over two decades. Each of these tiny quakes originated in almost exactly the same location. By closely comparing seismic readings from these quakes, the team was able to determine the "fault strength" -- the shear stress level required to cause the fault to slip -- at Parkfield between 1987 and 2008.
The team found fault strength changed markedly at three times during the 20-year period. The authors surmised that the 1992 Landers earthquake, a magnitude 7 quake north of Palm Springs, Calif. -- about 200 miles from Parkfield -- caused the first of these changes

Oslo - US President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for giving the world "hope for a better future" and striving for nuclear disarmament.
The decision to award one of the world's top accolades to a president less than nine months into his first term, who has yet to score a major foreign policy success, came as a big surprise and provoked strong international criticism as well as praise.

Group of Seven fights irrelevance in new world order
ISTANBUL (Reuters) - After decades in charge, the club of rich, industrialised nations is fast losing sway as a share of global economic power shifts towards big developing countries.
That was a lesson of the Group of Seven's meeting in Istanbul at the weekend, when the absence of China showed the G7 could no longer tackle the world's economic problems on its own.
Marco Annunziata, chief economist at UniCredit bank in London, said: "Istanbul is being seen by many as the G7's swan song, before it relinquishes power."
The G7's weakness in Istanbul was a far cry from the status it enjoyed before the financial crisis of the past two years.
Founded in 1976 to bring together top financial officials of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, the G7 guided world financial markets for decades.

Gasps echoed through the Nobel Hall in Oslo yesterday as Barack Obama was unveiled as the winner of the 2009 Peace Prize, sparking a global outpouring of incredulity and praise in unequal measure.
Mr Obama was sound asleep in the White House when the Norwegian Nobel Committee made the shock announcement. It said that he was being honoured for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples”.
In a clear swipe at his predecessor, George W. Bush, the committee praised the “change in the international climate” that the President had brought, along with his cherished goal of ridding the world of nuclear weapons.
“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future,” it added.
International reaction ranged from delight to disbelief. The former winners Kofi Annan and Desmond Tutu voiced praise, the latter lauding the Nobel Committee’s “surprising but imaginative choice”.
But Lech Walesa, the dissident turned Polish President, who won the Peace Prize in 1983, spoke for many, declaring: “So soon? Too early. He has no contribution so far.”

1987 was two years before 1989, which I regard as the start of the Last Days - Roelof
The gay victory
You shall not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is abomination to God. (Lev 18:22)
"On October 19, 1987, the Stock Market dropped over 500 points for the greatest one-day crash in history. The crash resulted in a one-day drop of 22.6 percent in the market and a loss of over 500 billion dollars.
The LORD led me into this ministry on the very day of great stock market crash of 1987, when the market fell 508 points for a one day record at that time. This crash followed six business days after the greatest homosexual rally in history on October 11, 1987. At that time, this was the greatest one day crash next to October 1929.
The homosexuals were marching for their rights and were supported by many politicians and civic leaders. Now, on October 11, exactly 22 years later the homosexuals are once again marching. In the ensuing 22 short years they fulfilled most of their agenda. The one remaining crown for them is the legalization of sodomite marriage. They have succeeded in about seven states, but have been blocked in many states, plus the Defense of Marriage Act.
On October 10, the president will address a dinner for the march. He is an outspoken supporter of homosexuality and has appointed many of them to positions of power. How America has fallen in just 22 years.
The march this Sunday, October 11, is for sodomite marriage, which is the ultimate in rebellion against the Holy God of Israel
The economy is in shambles and melting away. All the warning signs are there for the collapse of the dollar.
The LORD first put America on notice as a result of the homosexual march in 1987.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama (http://www.reuters.com/news/globalcoverage/barackobama), speaking on the eve of a major gay-rights march, told gay supporters on Saturday he would fight for their causes and renewed a pledge to end restrictions on their service in the U.S. military.
To a standing ovation at a dinner held by the Human Rights Campaign, a gay advocacy group, Obama said he would "end 'don't ask, don't tell,' That's my commitment to you."
Obama, who was referring to the policy prohibiting openly gay people from serving in the U.S. military, was seeking to shore up his support among gays and lesbians who backed him strongly during last year's presidential campaign.

British foreign minister David Miliband, whom Clinton met in London, said Iran (http://www.reuters.com/news/globalcoverage/iran) would never have a better opportunity to establish normal ties with the rest of the world but that it had to start behaving like a "normal country."

Hi, Roelof! This news is something all of us Internet users should take close note about. President Obama appears to have given up on keeping the U.S. in the position of protector of the Internet, as the Commerce Department has failed to renew its contract of overseeing the work of ICANN. Instead the U.S. will participate in a Governmental Advisory Committee with 3 dozen other countries whose recommendations won't even be binding on ICANN. According to the following Wall Street Journal article, mass censorship of the Internet may result from lack of oversight. While I am all for censoring pornography and immorality, it is quite possible that censorship of political or religious views will become a huge problem for us who share our faith with others online.

Hi, Roelof! Turkey and Armenia just signed a historic peace agreement that ended the conflict between them that started way back in the days of World War I. It establishes diplomatic ties and reopens their borders. Sounds like their parliaments still have to make final approvals, but the agreement was signed by their foreign ministers. This is interesting news in light of the alliance of nations that will be a part of the Gog of Magog war. Here are two articles for you. The first one tells about the signing of the agreement, the second tells about how it may be related to the Gog war. Quakes shake scientific thought
Sydney - A sudden cluster of massive earthquakes which has shaken Asia-Pacific communities and likely left thousands dead has also jolted some scientists, who are starting to question conventional thought.
Experts who dismissed notions that far-away quakes could be linked are beginning to think again after huge tremors rocked Samoa and Indonesia on the same day, followed by another major convulsion in Vanuatu.
Some 184 people died in the terrifying tsunami which smashed Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga on September 30, while thousands are feared dead after parts of Indonesia's Padang city were reduced to rubble just hours later.
On Thursday, thousands of panicked people fled the coast as a rapid succession of large quakes off Vanuatu set off a tsunami warning for much of the South Pacific.
The "remarkable" sequence has prompted veteran earthquake-watcher Gary Gibson to tear up his theory it was all down to chance and search for a possible connection.
"It's remarkable. I've been working on this for 30 years and never seen it before," said Gibson.

Gay activists demand action from Obama on 'don't ask, don't tell' legislation
Tens of thousands of gay and lesbian activists gathered for a march in Washington yesterday, demanding that President Obama keep promises to protect their rights — including addressing the vexed issue of gays in the military.
“We’re out, we’re proud, we won’t back down,” the crowd chanted, waving rainbow flags before beginning their march from the White House to the Capitol.
Speaking on Saturday at an annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, America’s biggest gay advocacy group, the President renewed a promise to overturn a Clinton-era law requiring gays to keep their sexual orientation secret when serving in the military. He was criticised, however, for once again failing to set a timetable for repealing the law.
“I will end ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’,” Mr Obama declared, receiving a standing ovation from the 3,000-strong audience.

President Obama waves as he arrives at the 13th Annual National Dinner of the Human Right Campaign October 10, 2009 in Washington
Saturday night President Obama charmingly delivered a rather bleak message to the gay community on the eve of its latest march on Washington. In a speech to the world's largest gay political group, the Human Rights Campaign, Obama essentially said two things: I'm with you. But I can't do much for you.

My view point is that the Last Days started in 1989 - Roelof
The Next Step for the E.U.
The Irish question — the 21st century version of it, not the one that so vexed Victorian statesmen — has been settled. Ireland's Oct. 2 referendum vote in favor of the Lisbon Treaty and a new constitutional settlement for the European Union was decisive. It seems highly likely that Poland and the Czech Republic, the two holdouts in the process of ratifying the new treaty, will fall into line soon, however much it may pain Czech President Vaclav Klaus, the Saint-Just of Euroskepticism, to sign the document. By the beginning of next year, new institutional arrangements for the E.U. will be in place.
Then what? First, perhaps, a pause for breath. In 1989, when the Berlin Wall came down, there were 12 members of the European Community, as the E.U. was then known. Now there are 27. Inevitably, institutional reform of this metastasizing body has dominated debate for years, as its members have tried to figure how to make the damn thing work. The attention of political leaders has been directed inward, at just the time when tectonic movements outside Europe — the revival of political Islam, the economic rise of Asia — have both threatened and diminished Europe's centrality in world affairs.

Our country has been taken over by the enemy. George Washington and Patrick Henry are turning over in their graves.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but the plot is so blatant it would not surprise me if it were initially hatched in the bowels of the Kremlin, or in some Arab desert tent, or both.
"Make no mistake. We're now in the middle of a bloodless coup – the takeover of an entire nation by the hate-America crowd – a cold-blooded gang that despises America's prosperity, our standing in the world, our trust in God and our generosity and goodness," says political activist Floyd Brown in a post on the new Impeach Obama Campaign website. (http://www.impeachobamacampaign.com/) See http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=112098 (http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=112098).
Is Barack Hussein Obama a Russian mole? The collective evidence gives credence to last year's testimony by a businessman named Tom Fife, which at the time seemed ridiculous. Tom relates that in Russia in 1992 a businessman's wife told him, "What if I told you that you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Communist?" The out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares. She continued, "Well, you will; and he will be a Communist." See full story at http://www.americantownmeeting.com/Essays.php. (http://www.americantownmeeting.com/Essays.php.%A0)Events since January 2009 support the veracity of that story.
Somehow this ties into his spending over $1 million to hide his birth and college records, the latter of which might reveal who financed him and whose puppet he is. To top things off, there is evidence that he is an imposter, pulling the con job of history.
It is no accident that Barack Hussein Obama's principal mentors have been avowed Marxist Frank Marshal Davis, avowed Marxist Paul Robeson, anti-American terrorist William Ayers, anti-American radical Saul Alinsky, and anti-American Jeremiah Wright. Those people are an indelible part of Obama's life, and have shaped his thinking. They have made him what he is.
Who could expect Obama to be anything more than what he is? Who could have missed it? Oh, of course -- the lapdog mainstream news media.
The character of a person is known by the company he keeps. Consider the above anti-American Marxists and terrorists, plus the 32 "czars" he has chosen. See below. How can anyone come up with a such a cast of bad characters? Have you ever heard of such a collection of weirdos?

My view point is that Imam, the Muslim messiah, could be the Final Antichrist - Roelof
During an interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BjL5GME-Oo) with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently, msnbc’s Ann Curry confronted the Iranian president with a provocative question about his spiritual beliefs.
“In your speeches, you pray for God to hasten the arrival of the hidden imam, the Muslim messiah,” stated Curry (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32913296/ns/world_news-mideastn_africa/print/1/displaymode/1098/). “What is your relationship with the hidden imam, and how soon do you think before the second coming?”
Ahmadinejad’s response, delivered rather nonchalantly, was non-specific and concocted to appeal to his American audience. “Yes, that’s true,” he replied. “I prayed for the arrival of the 12th imam. … When the imam arrives, all [the world’s problems] will be resolved. And a prayer for the owner of the age is nothing but a wish for justice and brotherly love to prevail around the world.”

Washington - Nasa is set to begin the most extensive aerial survey of Earth's surface to chart the impact of global warming, with six years of flights over Antarctica to understand the frozen continent's glaciers and ice sheets.
The US space agency said the massive aerial survey, part of a programme dubbed Operation Ice Bridge, will get underway on Thursday.
Data gathered during the mission will help scientists predict how changes to the massive Antarctic ice sheet will contribute to a rise in sea levels around the world.
Researchers will work from Nasa's DC-8, an airborne laboratory equipped with laser mapping instruments, ice-penetrating radar and gravity instruments.

Senate Armed Service Committee Chairman Carl Levin said the British and other Western armies have ended such discrimination and that it would be "great progress" for the United States to do it as well.

But if "premature" is the word for Nobel's scanning of reports of his own demise, then it is also the most polite word for the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to our 44th president in the first year of his first term. Up until now, the annual awards for "peace," bestowed by right-thinking Scandinavians, have been of five distinct types:
1. For service to diplomacy and realpolitik.
2. For service to cynicism, opportunism, and hypocrisy.
3. For service to human rights.
4. For service to random but vague feelings of good will.
5. For fealty to supranational institutions and to the United Nations and its cadet or satellite outfits.
