Bless his heart, that one poor kid at least kept tryin' to guess "Genesis" for everything but kept gettin' it wrong. http://bibleforums.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=5247&stc=1&d=1247761815

Not really surprising, when you consider the schools are trying to teach kids that God is a myth.

It's pretty bad that the public school system is so scared of the Bible that they won't even allow it on an objective level as part of literature or overall religious studies.

Perfect example of what happens when bias rules and intelligence falls by the wayside.

This is why friends don't let friends attend public school in America. :)

Yes, that was pretty funny...the kid from Tufts. He saw 'In the beginning(was the word) and guessed Genesis instead of what Alex called 'The Bible of John" after getting Genesis and Exodus mixed up the q before...he made up for it after that by correctly identifying Job for $1600.

Is it just me or has this years college tournament seemed a lot easier than past years?

Or maybe I'm getting really smart!

Well, to be fair, public schools have to cater to students of all faiths and no faith as well -- I mean, would you want a "religious studies" class where Christian kids had to read from the Quran, the Bhagavad Gita, etc.? I think it's best to leave it out of school and let the families teach the kids what they want at home. There's enough things that kids have to learn to get by in this world without teaching them about the Bible in school.

(I did take a "Literature of the Hebrew Bible" class in college, which I really liked -- it was basically reading the first five books of the Old Testament as literature. But, the class was nearly ruined for me by one guy who just would not accept that this was a LITERATURE class and he needed to quit witnessing every class period.)

Yes, actually I wouldn't mind. It doesn't hurt us as Christian to have an understanding of the sacred texts of other religions. In our religion class in high school, we read texts and were taught about other religions, and today I'm glad to have had that exposure. I did a whole research paper on Buddha, even though the majority of our class was focused in Christian studies. Why not? We can't expect unbelievers to be openminded about the Bible if we refuse to concern ourselves with the faith of others and find out how they think, and why, when we engage in conversation with them. Goes both ways, no? And if we say that our Scriptures carry the power of God, then the other texts are just words on the page. What do they hold in comparison to the power of the living Word? Nothing.

That would be a good idea, too many Christian don't why they're Christians and why they aren't Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, etc....
