Just finished reading "The Teacher and His Work" by Samuel Findley from the late 1800's. What is described in this book ought to be read by every Christian. It provides an excellent roadmap back to Christian Schooling in this country. Has anyone else read this book?

Honestly, this is the first I've heard of it. But because this is an interest of mine, I looked into it, and the book is in the public domain. Anyone can read it here: http://www.archive.org/stream/teacherhiswork00findrich#page/n5/mode/2up

At first glance (at the first 10 pages or so) it at least starts off by asserting that what makes for the very best schools is the character and dedication of the teachers in them. I have a few thoughts on that, but I'll read more of it over the next few days and see where my thoughts go before I share them here.

Anyone else want to join in? :D

I haven't read the book but I do know that men and women of God who taught me..(and the schools were not all private Christian schools..some were public) certainly had a major impact in my life. I also hope I made a difference to my students when I taught both in private Christian schools and also in a public school.
