Malachi 3:10 (King James Version)

10] Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

It Sounds Too Good To Be True

God's trustworthiness is not only promised, it is proven. His blessing is described in Prov. 3:9-10 and expressly demonstrated in Malachi 3:10. The prophet Malachi preached to a people who were robbing God by withholding tithes. Now think about it. How can you "steal" from a God who is all powerful and created all that exists? It is a subtle but important concept. They stole from God the privilege of blessing His people. God delights in His goodness to us. Our disobedience robs Him and diminishes our relationship. He wants us to obey because He wants to shower us with goodness and kindness. Are there tangible, observable results attached to trusting God? Read it again. A real, holy, caring, capable God says, "Try me. I will prove you can TRUST me."

FOR TODAY: Watch for God's goodness as your obedience allows Him to bless you.

Wow! What a great word for my first post (outside of the intro). I remember reading this and studying it and have always maintained that it meant so much more than just giving money, which is when I hear this scripture the most. Thanks for the reminder. Praise Jesus.
