You know the products priced at $19.95? Billy Mays claimed these low priced wonders really worked. The new one about the cell phone gets me.Hook a gadget into the cell phone, tune your radio to 99.3 and can hear over the car speakers. I'm betting if a radio staion happens to be on that channel you'll hear static,if it works at all. Just wondering. My wife bought some of those Ped X at Wal-Mart.They don't work that good. :o

I must admit that I have been a sucker many times over!

Here's a list of the "As seen on TV" things I have been suckered by:

1. Ginsu knives - Never need sharpened and can cut through a can then slice a tomato perfectly! Junkiest knives I have ever owned!

2. Auri 5000 - Restore that new car finish! Never worked for me!

3. Pocket fisherman - Ron Popeil's first new breakthrough from the 70's! Yes I actually got one for christmas when I was about 12. And no I never could get it to work.

4. Ron Popeil's food dehydrator. What a waste of money for something I used maybe once and then realized it was a collosal waste of time!

I am almost ashamed to admit how many time I have been convinced that I couldn't live without it!

Around here you would get the local rock station at 99.3MHz.

Yes I bought the tool bandit brought to us by Billy Mays! :) I never got it because I entered the date wrong on my CC and than we needed the money, even though it is 19.99 the total was 49.99 because of the shipping and handling of all the free gifts :D

That's where they make their money because shipping is never more than $10 in the real world

My brother bought some of those banjo lures, guarenteed to catch fish. He never caught any on them.I could see why the pocket fishermen wouldn't work.I almost bought Jack Lahayne's juicer at J.C.Penney's,but then thought it would be a waste of money, since I don't like vegetable juice.

OH no!!! You just reminded me of the Flying Lure!!! Another $29.99 investment that hooked me instead of fish! I do remember catching a small bass when I first tried it, but the flesh of the lures tore up so badly I couldn't use them anymore.

I am soooooo gullible!!

I bought swivel sweepers a couple of years ago, and love them. I no longer need a broom.

My mom and I love our Ped Eggs. 'Course, it helped that they sell them at my store where I get a 20% discount. ;)

I bought an exercise kit once off a pitchman. It's gathering dust in the top of my closet.

I got suckered years ago when I was a boy by the pocket fisherman. The first time I used it I got the line hung up on a snag and when I broke it off I wound the line into the thing. I tried to poen it to get the end of the line out of it and it fell to pieces. I took it to a neighbor who was skilled at mechanics and he couldn't get it back to working order. I had worked hard over several weeks and saved up the $19.99 + $5.00 S & H. This crushing disappointment was a valuable lesson almost learned :rofl:

About 5 years ago I got suckered into buying that Walk Fit shoe insert thing. I was working a job that required alot of standing and my feet were killin me. The agony was so bad pain overuled common sense and I pitched in the $19.95 + $8.00 S & H. Not only did I get to feel crippled for 10 days after wearing the thing for a couple of days, I got honuded by all manner of marketeers hawking the latest scam-o-matic Billy Mays junk for the next 3 years. I only exscper further hounding by closing my cell phone and home phone accounts as a resulting fallout from my devorce.

Oh I am also the sorry owner of those crummy Ginsu knives I got suckered in by a pitchman at the local swap meet who promptly parted me from my $20.00. I am living proof people are stupid :rofl::rofl:

Joan Lunden is the pitchman for a skincare line by Murad called, "Resurgence", and I bought that and have been using it for a week. Pretty good!

What I really want to buy is Jack LaLanne's juicer. Our pastor has it and loves it!

I STILL get tempted by the SlapChop.
Luckily for me I'm OCD about chopping stuff as fine as possible with my favorite kitchen knife. Its therapeutic for me in a way.

I bought a set of Miracle Blades a few years back, some of the best kitchen knives I've ever had. I didn't buy them based solely because of the "pitchman," though. The commercials got me interested, but it wasn't until I actually saw them in use at a buddy's house that I decided to buy them. Money well-spent. :)

Isn't the slap chop just the old veg-a-matic with a updated design?

My wife and I bought something identical to the Slap Chop on our honeymoon in Vegas nearly 11 years ago. It was an impulse buy. We used it maybe 4 times and into a drawer somewhere it went. Those blades aren't as sharp as what you see on T.V. and the thing does not even begin to clean as easily as he suggests (even when you take it apart and open up the blade housing for the dishwasher). Not to mention, that the blades began to show signs of rust.

Save your money...:saint:

I mostly watch informercials for entertainment value. Really, Shamwow guy puts any used car salesman to shame. And, he can't do it all day so watch him while you can!

Have I purchased a thing or two?

Do you really think I'm going to tell you people?

Pssh.

(P.S. The Ped Egg works pretty good. The podiatrist I type for isn't too impressed by it but if you don't over-use it, because it's pretty much a glorified cheese grater, then it works alright to get the really bad calluses down ... go easy after that and use a pumice stone or you'll tear up your skin if you go hogwild with it. I got mine at Bed, Bath & Beyond tho. For a lot less than $19.95. No shipping either. :P)

P.S. 2 There's web sites where you can see consumer reviews on the as-seen-on-TV products. Read before you buy. :)

We bought the George Forman grill and love it. We got ours at Sears.

I have a set of Ginsu knives that I bought from a pitchman at a trade show. Mine work and I like them. They still cut after 15 years.

I bought the EZ Rider. It worked, but it was much too hard and I quickly turned it into a clothes rack. It was not the products fault, but mine. I sold it in a garage sale.

I didn't think about the George Foreman grill either, seems to have pretty much become a household staple. I bought one in college and used it a lot while I lived in an apartment. Now that I'm in a house and have a full-sized grill, though, I hardly ever use it.
