greetings , I am searching for a church I can be comfortable with a call home . I am a former member of south mountain baptist in north carolina. I have living in a indepence sober-living recovery home for addiction . Most of the churche's out here in san bernadino have nine -month programs for the home-less . some church's want you to pay membership fee's [ not tithes ] , and some want you to wear three piece suits. I am some what of an old -fashioned fire-and - brimstone follower of Christ do you know any church's out there that I would be welcomed to.:pray:

I made your post into a separate thread. I am pleased you are looking for a home church - that is so important....it will probably require a little research on your part. Are you looking for a Baptist church? I did a search for you and here it is:

Check out the web sites, call and speak with someone on church staff. Make sure you always check out what they believe!

Someone else may come along and post with first-hand knowledge of the churches in your area.

Remember that there are other denominations that may be similar to the fire and brimstone background you are speaking of. In my area, there are a wide range of beliefs and doctrines under the Baptist / Pentecostal / Holiness / Full Gospel headings. Most can fellowship together with little or no differences in their doctrine. The main difference here being, whether they believe the Holy Ghost manifistations are for today's people and whether or not they believe in eternal security or not. Not taking sides, just suggesting you try other denominations if you can't find what you are looking for. Ask for the doctrine of faith and try the church for a little while before you decide. Above all else, pray that the Lord will lead you to your new church home and you'll have a peace about it when you find it.
