Hey everyone. I was browsing a Mormon website and came across the question as to why mainstream Protestant Churches don't typically have prophets. It says that in the Bible, Jesus foretold that there would be prophets and indeed, the epistles mention prophets in the early Church as well. What happened to them? Note that I am not here to advance the Mormon faith or to evangelize anyone. I simply wondered about this question.

There are many people who operate in their prophetic gifting and those who also hold the office of the prophet. You don't have to look to a cult like the Mormons to prove Christianity wrong

The gift of prophecy is pretty widely practiced. You probably just aren't that exposed to it.
