I am going through a time when I can't find work and I have a lot to think about regarding my future in general. However, in spite of this, I know that God is faithful and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him!:spin: With this in mind I have been quite at peace, in spite of the circumstance, knowing that God will come through for eventually. I am actively searching and I have already sent in a few applications. I also try to keep myself busy at church and at home.I have so much support for this. So I thought I'd start a thread on God's provision. Especially since a recent sermon i heard has confirmed to me that I can trust in His character. If you have any stories about this and how God has provided for you in any way feel free to post it here. this is both in the way of praise and encouragement :) My intention is to especially focus on scriptures that speak about this and that one can take and meditate on and pray over in order to build faith and stay focused on that instead of the circumstances.
A scripture that has been on my heart for a while now is this one:
Psam 37:3-7 (NIV)
3 Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live in the land and enjoy its food.
4 Find your delight in the Lord.
Then he will give you everything your heart really wants.
5 Commit your life to the Lord.
Here is what he will do if you trust in him.
6 He will make your godly ways shine like the dawn.
He will make your honest life shine like the sun at noon.
7 Be still. Be patient. Wait for the Lord to act.

1COR 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The way He usually speaks to me is through my circumstances. I always try to stay prayed-up, bringing others before Him as well as I told them I would [pray for them]. The same thing with giving Him praise on everything despite my circumstances; He's completely aware of what my needs are and meets them, in His time and just at the right time for me.
For myself, I always ask for more wisdom and understanding for He's faithful to give James 1:5
When I'm feeling tempted, I'm thankful that I've grown enough spiritually to know that temptation doesn't come from Him but rather from me and my own evil desires as stated in James 1:13-15 v13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one. v14 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). v15 Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.
Lastly, I love the entire chapter of Psalm 91, and I especially read and reflect on each and every word when I'm encountering trials of any kind.

that is so great. Thank you for your wonderful post. And i had almost given up on this thread. Yes, isn't it amazing to think how God remains faithfull. My circumstances dont always appear that good, but when i remember that He never puts me in a position that i can't manage. Just looking at His character and follow Him, i know i can make it through anything.

Note that every word given by god is a promise! it cannot be undone!
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

I God has commanded us to work, then would not he help us, to find work, not only to fulfill what he has commanded us, but because He loves us also and cares for us?

Hiya many Numbers :-)
yes, God does provide - exactly what we need at the exact perfect time.
Look at the 23rd Psalm:
1The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 - He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.

Psalms 37:25
I have been young,
and now am old;
yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
