My name is Matt, from Shreveport, LA. Before being saved by Christ 6 months ago, I lived a homosexual lifestyle. But I found that Gods grace is more powerful than any grip any sin may have on someone. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation for ANYONE. I'm living, walking proof of that and my desire in This life is to spread the Biblical truth of Gods Word on this subject. My blog/testimony- "Gay Christian?" https://mattmoore89.wordpress.com/2011/0... (https://mattmoore89.wordpress.com/2011/03/14/gay-christian/) -- I wrote this blog on Monday, obviously under the influence of the Holy Spirit because since then it has spread through facebook like wildifre all over the world. I'm still kindof in shock about it. No glory to myself, I can't even breathe without God much less write something like this. If you'd like to help spread his TRUTH and power of God, please feel free to post the link to my blog on Facebook or twitter, you most definitely have my permission to do so. God bless!

Awesome that you are found in Christ and your identity is now in Him alone. Bless you, and I would encourage you that as you first knew the Lord and He has established you in the truth of His Word, that you so continue in Him.
He who denies himself ... loses themselves in Jesus alone and follows Him, come hell or high water, no matter how they feel or think ... will find his true life. You are proof of that. Bless you. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.

Hi Matt, thanks for sharing. Your testimony truly can help others bound by homosexuality realize that it's something they can be delivered from, just like any other addiction. Continue daily, to draw ever closer to Jesus, and please don't be discouraged by the Satan-inspired opposition that almost certainly will be come against you. Nice testimony!!! I hope people across the world (especially the US because it accepts homosexuality in some places) see that link you posted. The hard-hitting verse in there is this:
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "
Also, I want to warn those who steal music, software, and other things online by downloading them illegally. You are practicing thievery, and no thief can inherit the kingdom of God. Perhaps I should make my own blog about this one, haha.

Hello Mmoore
I read your linked blog in full. I am gladdened you have come to embrace the atonement of the Messiah Jesus, It is wonderful to see people saved. I often discuss this topic on other forums and am seen as a hate mongering bigot by the very people i wish salvation for. Anyway as to your Blog. I see two statements in it. Put together they reveal what i see as an inconsistency.
Jesus came to free us from the power of SIN. Not the power of the Bible. His grace does not give us a license to sin, but the ability NOT to sin.
This is an absolutist statement. Your saying here that once one repents and accepts the Messiah Jesus one is given the ability Not to sin.
This statement if believed by Christians would cause most Christians to believe themselves unsaved within short time of accepting it. For as far as i know untill we are resurrected and changed into our perfected state that will be free of sin, we shall continue to be sinners till the end.
But then later in your blog you seem to give a relative statement.
Like any sin, if you struggle with homosexuality, it is likely you will always struggle with it to some degree. Just like other people struggle with the temptation of any other sin. But I can tell you from my own personal experience, that when you genuinely seek God and His truth, homosexuality, or any other sin, will no longer have a hold on you. The thoughts seem to just disappear over time and they arefewer and further in between.
"fewer and further" is Not the same as having the "ability NOT to sin" anymore. Saying that "you will always struggle with it to some degree" is again not consistent with your absolutist statement of "His grace does not give us a license to sin, but the ability NOT to sin"
So if Jesus coming to free us from the power of sin means that we have the ability Not to sin anymore then once a person believed and accepted Jesus as Messiah they would cease to sin period.

I don't buy into the idea that if a person gets saved, they will never be tempted to sin again or will never sin again.
I also don't buy into the idea that it's acceptable for a person to get saved and then go right back to living EXACTLY the same way they were before.
I believe that sometimes a saved person will fall flat on their face and fail MISERABLY to do what's right.

God is good, God is good. Praise him. Testimonials are not only stories of how the Lord has worked in ones life, but also an eye opener to those whom have distanced oneself from God, or have not found the freedom that is Christ. Your story and realization are a catalyst. Through reading your trial, others will be given strength and courage to break free the bonds of that which isn't Godly, and bring themselves to the one who truly knows who we are, and what we are meant to be. By simply sharing the story, you are not only affirming the powerful work of the Lord, but also opening the door for countless others. God bless, brother.

Hello Matt :)
Something I want to share on my thoughts with Homosexuality and the Bible. I've posted this on another forum.
*
I'm not here to judge anyone, only to give my thoughts on what the Bible tells me. If there was someone who was gay that came up to me and wanted to talk, I would greet him the same way I would anyone else.
I'm going to try and make this short, simple and to the point.
We were created by God to glorify him and to serve him. We were not created to make ourselves like the potter and to chase after our own desires and self pleasures. When we do this, we disregard the reason why we're here and turn this natural world into an unnatural one.
Sex is for one purpose only, to create new life to bring glory to God from his creation. Not for our own self pleasures to make us feel good. As the lord said, be fruitful and multiply. Not to be sexually immoral. The human body is a precious thing, and it belongs to the lord no matter how much you believe otherwise. When people lack God in their hearts, they turn themselves into something God like and do as they will. They forget we are here to serve him. The seed of man being wasted through Homosexuality or the egg of a woman as the same is something very precious. What a miracle it is, but people lacking God in their hearts throw it out the window. What people need to realize is why we are here in the first place, and how much of a miracle it truly is. The sin we are all born into isn't an easy battle to overcome, and many don't.
God created the natural world, man made it unnatural. To say God created homosexuality is to say God didn't give us freewill. Man created homosexuality through freewill, but If we didn't have freewill then how would there be true love? Like I've heard before, if you tell a computer to print out "I LOVE YOU", does it really love you? Or did you tell it to say that? To the people who say people are born with it, I believe you mean to say they were born without God in their life. Without knowing their purpose in this creation and who truly sits on the throne. People have forgotten what true love is, brotherly love for one another, not sexual desires. But man has fallen away from God and has twisted this world into something ungodly and vile.
*
Hold on to what you've received.
God Bless

1 Cor 7:8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; 9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
Sex with a spouse is about passion for and with the spouse married to.
Sex any other way (with self or with a non-spouse) is just lust and that is where the sin is at.

Also, regarding his testimony, he took it off his blog. According to an interview at http://www.christianpost.com/news/interview-matt-moore-on-being-outed-same-sex-attraction-and-gods-grace-89682/#IuUs7dO6F87jKSC7.99,
CP: Why did you take your original testimony, "My Story: Homosexuality, Drunkenness, Grace and Redemption" on CP down? Has your testimony changed?
Moore: There are some details about my family that I promised my family I would not publicly discuss any more. When I saw the Huffington Post linked directly to that blog, I deleted it.
