Link to Yahoo news video about this...also includes other states that were hit by severe weather from the same system. I don't know why they included Kansas on there though as as far as I know we only had a little pop up thunderstorm last evening that only affected a small part of the state and wasn't damaging in any way.

Please keep these towns in your prayers.

While i was watching a movie last night that had a constant thunderstorm in it, there was also a massive thunderstorm producing outside that was collaborating with the thunderstorm in the movie........is that a sign? ^^

Of course! It means you and everyone in your town is a sinner... But the good news is this was obviously just a warning, since you are still here... to turn from your sins before the big one hits...

Well this is true, we are all sinners in this town.
Praise Christ for His purchase!
We dont get much for "wild" weather in these parts and i've always been fascinated with wicked weather.

Very true and yes indeed praise God for His Son! :pp
I hate to make light of all of this though...while no one died in the Iowa torando's...half or more of a town is gone. Whole blocks were leveled ..its really traumatic to lose everything... People will say they are just thankful all their loved ones are ok...and they are...but still...they have to literally start all over....and its no fun having to go to a Red Cross shelter set up and have nothing but the clothes on your back. Some things can't be replaced...family photo's...hand made gifts...things from the memories of their life. All gone. Many time insurance won't cover anything or not nearly enough to them to rebuild either...then what do they do? Look forward to Fema trailers? :(
This is just April too...Tornado's started in March...very early this year.
God bless

Moonglow i hope i dont come across as ignorant by saying this and i know it is indeed hard to see when yourself or people you know or heard of lose homes and memories and material possesions.
But the thing that counts through all of that is that really that stuff isnt important. The important thing is that those who have Christ realize within themselves that losing everything in this world cost nothing, losing Him cost's everything.
I guess what im trying to say is, i pray even though they have lost so much, they find whats important, Christ, and those who have know within themselves that they lost nothing.
I do agree it is traumatic and again i hope it's doesnt stir up ignorance as a view from you towards what im saying.

I understand what you are saying..I really do. But the fact remains they can't just stay in a shelter and accept this loss..they have to find a way (hopefully through Christ) to go on and that means replacing what was lost because they do have to provide for their families. Providing for our families is bibical and expected. Children need to have a roof over their heads, have clothes, and yes even toys. These people haven't lost their homes because of some Christian persecution (though that does happen in certain nations!) but due a natural disaster. You can't really compare that to what Christ did I don't think. Not too mention He willingly gave up His life and He had nothing to start with anyway. Many times these people don't grieve over the lost of their TV..or their couch..its the home they have lost and the sense of safety. That is forever gone. Plus the baby pictures, the hand made things that little children make..those are things you can't go pick up in the store.
I have been re-reading the OT again and while the Hebrews lost everything due to other nations invading them (sent by God to punish them) there were times God told those people to stay where they were..in foreign lands..to build homes and plant gardens, have families...start over...not just sit and accept having nothing.
Hope that makes sense. :)
God bless

I agree.
They do need all of those things as they see fit, yet they do not through Christ.
This is where i hope those who havent lost those material things in those areas be servants and do what they can to take care and comfort all these people as they can by provisions needed, whichever those provisions be (ie shelter, food, voice of comfort ext)
I also agree %100, this didnt happen because those people were any more wicked or any less wicked than any of us anywhere, it happened as it did.
