Glen Beck has been canceled...
FOX NEWS AND MERCURY RADIO ARTS ANNOUNCE NEW AGREEMENT
(New York, NY) Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.
Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of Fox News said, “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him. ”
Glenn Beck said: “I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and Fox News. I cannot repay Roger for the lessons I’ve learned and will continue to learn from him and I look forward to starting this new phase of our partnership.”
Joel Cheatwood, SVP/Development at Fox News, will be joining Mercury Radio Arts effective April 24, 2011. Part of his role as EVP will be to manage the partnership and serve as a liaison with the Fox News Channel.
Roger Ailes said: “Joel is a good friend and one of the most talented and creative executives in the business. Over the past four years I have consistently valued his input and advice and that will not stop as we work with him in his new role.”
“Glenn Beck” is consistently the third highest rated program on cable news.
For the 27 months that “Glenn Beck” has aired on Fox News, the program has averaged more than 2.2 million total viewers and 563,000 viewers 25-54 years old, numbers normally associated with shows airing in primetime, not at 5pm. “Glenn Beck” has dominated all of its cable news competitors since launch.

Here is another one...
On Wednesday, Fox News announced that it was ending Glenn Beck’s daily cable-TV show.
These are not unrelated events.
When Beck’s show made its debut on Fox News Channel in January 2009, the nation was in the throes of an economic collapse the likes of which had not been seen since the 1930s. Beck’s angry broadcasts about the nation’s imminent doom perfectly rode the wave of fear that had washed across the nation, and the relatively unknown entertainer suddenly had 3 million viewers a night — and tens of thousands answering his call to rally at the Lincoln Memorial.
But as the recession began to ease, Beck’s apocalyptic forecasts and ominous conspiracies became less persuasive, and his audience began to drift away. Beck responded with a doubling-down that ultimately brought about his demise on Fox.
He pushed further into dark conspiracies, urging his viewers to hoard food in their homes and to buy freeze-dried meals for sustenance when civilization breaks down. He spun a conspiracy theory in which the American left was in cahoots with an emerging caliphate in the Middle East. And, most ominously, he began to traffic regularly in anti-Semitic themes.
This vile turn for Beck reached its logical extreme two weeks ago, when he devoted his entire show to a conspiracy theory about various bankers, including the Rothschilds, to create the Federal Reserve. To make this case, Beck hosted the conspiracy theorist G. Edward Griffin, who has publicly argued that the anti-Semitic tract “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” “accurately describes much of what is happening in our world today.”

Well I am confused..sounded like in the first article things were going better for him then the next he get axed? :confused Actually given the high gas prices, which of course raise the price of food and everything else just about..I am surprised interest hasn't grown again with him! The higher gas prices are seriously affecting our economy again....:B
Not saying I want Beck to stick around...I don't cause all he does is spread fear and fear doesn't come from God. How many times does Jesus say, do not fear? alot!
Beck doesn't help the situation I guess is what I am saying...so I will be glad when he is gone.

I started watching Glen Beck when his show first aired on Foxnews because my husband likes his radio show and always turned his new program on.
I found it interesting sometimes but boring most of the time because, I don't know, if you talk about anything apart from God for too long, you just lose me and my eyes glaze over. But then it was kind of strange because suddenly he started talking about God here and there. He went from never talking about Him to mentioning Him now and then. And I was like, did this man just find God?? Why didn't he ever talk about Him before and now he is? And then, he started talking about Him all the time, like, every day. So I says to my husband, oh, just when he begins to interest me, they're going to get rid of his show!
So my husband says, no, he has very high ratings. And I said, it doesn't matter. They're a cable news channel and they're going to tell him he has to stop always mentioning God and if, as I think I can see, he's met God, he of course will have to refuse stopping talking about Him and so he'll be cancelled. I think it's the reason and I was right (as usual...lolol) But I think as Beck says, they sat down to talk and everyone decided he'd go to working on specials.
I kind of cringed a few times when he first started talking about God at some of the things he said (like, God helps those that help themselves) but then, I cringe at some of the things I wrote in here too a few years ago after I met Him. And as I kept watching him, I saw real growth in understanding coming about.
I like that he believes, as I do, that truth is not about a political affiliation but that truth is just truth and should be sought out simply because it's the truth and the truth will set you free. I like that he is no respecter of a mans party but a respecter of truth and no respecter of denomination but of truth.
I like the things he urges his viewers to do - like going out and being a light to the lost and practicing random acts of kindness to show Jesus to people.
I like that he turned me onto some really good books on his show like the one that recently came out on Bonhoeffer. It was really good. I think it's called...Pastor. Martyr, Spy?
I don't understand why people say he's trying to scare people. He;\'s never scared me. He has said a lot of times that we don't need to be scared but that we need to be prepared and we need to know what it is that we believe in so that we can stick to it when harder times come so we can be a light and a life raft of sorts to those who are running around in a panic.
I like that he points out how our country was founded on christian principles and our laws on the laws of God and how he says our only hope is to get back to those principles and to seek God's face. I just don't understand how that is scary except to those who are perishing.
I don't agree with everything he says any more than I agree with every single thing any other christian says. I have watched him become more and more humble over the years I've watched his show and it's actually been a blessing to me to see it. I wanted to watch his endtimes video on his foxnews website but I don't have the money right now. Has anyone seen it? I look forward to his upcoming shows on what he did and who he spoke to on his recent trip to Israel.

Actually, it was founded on EVERY state (except Georgia and Rhode Island, I think) had an official, state sponsored religion from the time of the signing of the Constitution until years later, some until late into the 1800's.

Some states required that all citizens worship in and support the state sponsored religion. Tax revenues from all the citizens of the particular state were used to pay for church buildings and to pay pastors.
The US Constitution simply said that the feds would not establish a religion...that each state could do that for themselves (1st and 10th Amendments)
Almost all of the states required holders of public office to swear allegiance to and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord in some manner or the other. Those requirements, like the use of state tax money for churches, died out eventually, some very quickly and some not so quickly.

Rapper Common hearts cop killers, attends White House – Glenn Beck
http://www.glennbeck.com/2011/05/12/rapper-common-hearts-cop-killers-attends-white-house/
(Quote from transcript)
Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:27 AM EDT
Glenn’s been pretty vocal about his issues with cop-hating rapper Common being invited to a White House poetry jam. Is Glenn just an out of touch old fogey, or is the invite the latest example of the administrations direspect and disregard for police officers.
“Common has performed at the White House for poetry night. It is an outrage and Jay Carney has defended the decision by saying that the reports are deliberately being distorted,” Glenn said.
“Do you know who he’s praising in his cop‑killing rap? You know who he’s praising?” Glenn asked. “
In one of his songs, Common praises Assata Shakur, who killed a police officer in 1973. She was convicted for first degree murder but escaped from prison and is in exile.
The song also praises Kathy Boudin from the Weather Underground, and her son was raised by William Ayers while she was in prison for felony murder and robbery. The robbery that led to her arrest resulted in the death of multiple police officers.
“This is who the White House invited for poetry night, the guy saying, hey, these guys are great, and they don’t have a problem with it. Nothing can be done about it except this should be on the radar of every police officer you know,” Glenn said.
“I like movies about terrible things sometimes. I completely am fine with that. The point is, though, when you are talking about the White House honoring him as this wonderful poet when he’s doing poetry about killing cops, I think there’s a big separation there about someone’s personal entertainment and what the White House is promoting,” Stu argued.
Glenn disagreed with this assessment. He said that you can have entertainment that contains depictions of horrible events, but there is a line between that and something that holds up cop killers as heroes to be praised.
“This particular song is holding up a cop killer, and then he has other lyrics where he’s talking about, hey, I got a gun and I’m going to make the cops run. Excuse me? There’s no entertainment in that. That’s evil entertainment,” he said.
I have to agree with this. I mean, why HONOR a 'Poet' who is actually not a poet, but a rapper, and a rapper who promotes killing police in his rapping? Or his 'Poetry'?
Its like the Administration is choosing sides and that its fine to kill cops. What in the world is the White House thinking, honoring a 'poet' like that? It seems to me there are no 'reports' to deliberately distort. The facts are what they are.
RabbiKnife
May 13th 2011, 08:31 PM
I think Common is not very artistic and has ZERO talent.
That being said, the song does not "honor a cop killer." The song questions the conviction.
The invite to Common was a stupid political move, especially since this is National Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Week, or something like that.
But the whole COmmon rant by the right is a distraction and serves only to make constitutional conservatives (like me) look like a bunch of nutbergers. If you can't attack Obama on his policies, you need to stay in the basement in your underwear listening to the conspiracy theorists on the ham radios.

Same for Olberman and Matthews. That's how they make their MONEY. By making converts of "true believers". Instead of avidly watching/listening to someone else so they can tell us what we think, we should be reading, listening to MULTIPLE sources, left, right and middle, to think for ourselves, form "our" opinion. To spew the view of a highly paid provocatuer is nothing more than more money in his pocket.

Here's another source:
For New Jersey police, the outrage centers on "A Song for Assata" lyrics like "Your power and pride is beautiful. May God bless your soul." Shakur, formerly known as Joanne Chesimard, was convicted for the 1973 slaying of Trooper Werner Foerster on the New Jersey Turnpike. She escaped prison in 1979, and is living in asylum in Cuba.
"The young people who read this stuff, hear this stuff, are getting a very dangerous and deadly message," said David Jones, president of the State Troopers Fraternal Association union.

Check into what Mormon's teach...
The man is a Mormon.
I have no idea what Mormons teach. My guess is some of THEM don't even know all they teach.
Can't be much worse than teaching that Jesus was not the only sinless One but that His mother was also and so we should pray to her.
I don't even listen to what someones denomination is any more. None of them is without some error and leaven.
I look instead for what I've been told to look for - I know my brothers and sisters by their love for one another and for me and by their fruit.
I see these things in Glen Beck just as I see them in you, V, and I haven't even seen your face! But I see the love you have unfailingly shown me and I can almost TASTE the fruit. I see the gentleness, the meekness, the humility, the patience - you can't fake the fruit for long, no matter how hard you try. It will either be there in a consistent manner or it won't.
I know what I have heard from Glen's own mouth. I would no more condemn him for his denominations errors than I would you for yours or a Spirit-led catholic for theirs. It would be blasphemy for me (because of my weak conscience maybe) to see the Holy Spirit in a brother or sister and yet say they were condemned to hell because of this or that that their denomination says. It doesn't say we'll be plopped right down in the middle of all and inerrant truth, it says He will guide us to all truth. That means me, who doesn't attend a church and every other person who has received the Spirit, no matter their denomination. I reckon one day He'll say: come out of her My people and two catholics will be in the pew and one will be taken and the other left and two protestants will be in a pew and one will be taken and the other left. There were churches in Revelation that He had some very unfortunate words for but yet there were some in them who were hid in Him.

V, you know as well as I do that anyone can make anyone else look bad if they take only some of their words. For that matter, I have seen people take some of Jesus' words and do the same. I've heard people say they refuse Him because He said that to whoever has more will be given but to whoever who doesn't have what little He does have, it will be taken away. They say that is cruel and unmerciful to not help someone who doesn't have much. Of course they haven't understood that verse.
Now think about this. You say you have read very little of some of the words from his shows. Look at how it happens in this very forum and decide if you think that works to clarify and bring unity. Does taking a small section of what someone says do more harm or more good usually in here? I've even had people in here take one part of a sentence from one of my posts and another part of a sentence from another post and splice them together, no matter to them that two completely different things in two completely different threads were being talked about. Does this work to bring about understanding of me, especially considering that He confused our language long ago?
You have said the man is not a christian, which is to say he is heading at this moment for hell and yet you admit that you have only read a few of his words and never watched his show. So I question whether you have even given the man a trial. I see a terrible thing that satan does. He tries to get us to defend a certain group or club or denomination against another or one man against another, based on hearsay and a twisting of the mans words. It is the same thing they tried so hard to manuever at Jesus' sham trial. They wanted to use the laws of man to convict God and tried to play around with Jesus' words until they could make it look like He was some terrorist who said He was going to blow up the temple.
Does it matter that I am of one party and you another or of a different denomination or association? Would you defend your "group" over truth?
I personally have told you the words I heard from this mans mouth, that Jesus died for our sins, that He is the Son of God, that we need to go out fearlessly and be a light to others while we stand for the truth and on the rock of truth and not a political party. When they threw poor Shirley Sherrod under the bus, I was PERSONALLY watching his show after hearing all the hysterics over the course of the day, and he pointed out how unfairly she was being treated and he played all of the "evidence" and all of her words and SHOWED how she was being unfairly treated and portrayed. He said he couldn't yet explain WHY they were doing it to her, just that they were. He didn't take the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon to help further his group, assosciation or preference or to gain points for any worldview of political solutions to mankinds problem. He fought for her because truth was on her side. This is the side we should all be on - this is what we should always ask - what is the TRUTH? I know this person and I don't agree on a lot politically speaking but that doesn't matter when they are being unfairly treated - the TRUTH is what matters.
I said in my earlier post that I had watched his show since it began and how it didn't really interest me much until he began to speak about God. I also said I watched him with my own eyes become more and more humble. I also pointed out that I heard him, when he first began to speak of God, say some wrong things and I gave an example of something he said that was not the truth. It made me cringe when he said it. But I did not condemn him to hell for it - I just assumed that seeing as how I could see him growing, he would be guided to more and more truth regarding whether God helps those that help themselves or whether He helps the helpless.
You asked what the fruit was I saw growing steadily in him. I thought I had said that humility was one I particularly saw. I also still see him sometimes go on a rant or tirade where he takes a step back in that, but I see this also in me. The point is that when I see it in me, I apologize for me. I've apologized quite a lot even just in this forum, more so when I was new in Christ, but I don't have any illusion that I am now so perfect and holy that I might not need to apologize again in the future many times to many people. I've heard Glen apologize many times in front of a national audience when he realized he had mispoke.
I see him growing all the time and I see him when he grasps a new thing or a new understanding of what satan is doing to us. I see him wrestle with it and try to figure it out and I see that when he does figure it out, he tells the truth about what the motives are. I have seen him lately grasp, understand and then opoint out that we are being distracted from truth by political animals who seek to pit us against one another and focus on hate instead of our common bonds, dreams and aspirations. He has encouraging words for people but hasn't got much good to say about politics or political parties and their struggle for power over men.He points out that neither can unite us but that only seeking God can. And I agree. No ideology is going to help us and unify us in love and mercy for one another - liberal, conservative, big gov't, small gov't, communism, stalinism, socialism, or any kind of other ism of men. Men will still be men and because they are, all of them will fall apart. God is the only glue and salve. He is where my allegiance lies because no one else can fix men or the problems of men.
Yes, I see him lose sight of who the enemy is sometimes and I see him led aright again, but I see that in you and I too, V. He was talking to a guest the other night who was talking about his struggles and Glen pointed out what one of his major struggles has been - fame - and how it can swallow you up so quick that you lose your way and don't even know you're lost. About two years ago, he pleaded with his audience to take stock of all their THINGS and possessions and to note that we have lost our way in materialism and to pare down for the good of our souls and focus on eternal truths so that we can become bound together by these things instead of our common thread that holds us all together being stuff, materialism. He advised that after everyone took stock and determined what they didn't need that they had thought they did, to sell it and then use the money to help their neighbors, to be a light and an encouragement to the victims in all of this struggle for power and supremacy of political animals that has made them jobless victims who are wondering if all hope has been lost and who are tired and desperate for rest.
You take a look at that and determine for yourself - is there any law against what he is holding up?
Better yet, don't take my word for it. Determine to give the man a fair trial and see for yourself if he is promoting hatred or pointing out truth by seeking it out for yourself by watching his show for a week instead of going on hearsay. See for yourself, does he take the words of men out of context or does he shine the light of truth on their words? It is the least we can do for any man before we let others convince us to condemn him. At least admit that you have gone largely on what men say instead of seeking out the truth for yourself. And don't go on transcripts from a few years ago or from a day when he got right back on the air and said he mispoke. You have been gracious enough to not do that with me in here from a few years ago. You have never held my beginning errors against me. You have rejoiced in seeing me come to more and more light and truth and have never thrown my errors from four or five years ago up.
I don't know what the words hate mongering and fear mongering mean, V. But all I know is that Glen constantly tells his audience not to despair or give up or begin to think all is hopeless but to stick together in truth and love and to seek God and determine what His will is and to help each other and strengthen each other. He didn't start out saying that, as I said, but then neither did you or I.

I am confused because all I see from him is hate mongering and fear mongering. I will admit I only read transcripts from his show and not many of those. But where in particular are you seeing him show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness? I see the exact opposite in him.

Seen a few others on YT, looks like the 21st century version of McCarthy.

That's pretty awesome.
I think Beck's commentary on this video is almost better (in a sad way).

Yeah I saw that too. Very telling, I think.
Yanno, people can simply not like other people without being part of a vast conspiracy. I'm a Republican, but I can't stand Glenn Beck. He makes me want to throw things at the TV. And I like my TV. I tend not to watch people who make me want to throw things. It's usually not healthy.

With Glenn Beck, it's "follow the money"
Try joining his Insider Club. $44.95 will get you a six month subscription.
He began as a small time radio hack who became popular by screening his call ins searching to the far out nut jobs, so he could joust with them and eventually use his popular, scream into the mike "GET OFF MY PHONE"!
He's still a hack, convincing people he is THE voice of reason.
