I understand what you mean. It is awesome to always be ready...then we can enjoy the work that God has for us here..sometimes it is not easy but always knowing that to leave this body is to be with the Lord is awesome!!!

I agree Bill, Jesus is coming soon and many will not be ready ..we need to make sure that we are ready. We need to make sure that we live everyday as if it is our last on this earth because it may very well be.......

I am glad God saw you through and praise God for all those that ministered to your condition, especially your wife.

God bless!

I'm certainly glad that you are ok. Ah, wishing to go, but needing to stay, just as Paul says. I'm sure your faithful wife is glad to have you today!
I've had a time at one time but knew it was different. I still had young ones to take care of and suppose that God even now has a purpose for me for here I am.
At one time I walked into a hospital with no blood pressure reading to be found and having to have all the pints of blood in my body replaced that I had lost, and yet still walked into that room and they saying I should have been brought in, not walking in. I was not afraid and yes had wonderful friends at my side praying through the long night of a couple of surgeries.
So just as I was, then God still has a reason for you to be here, rejoice in it!

Bill, I enjoyed reading this. I remember those waits on dad to get home. And it is true, the offense and the punishment are forgotten for the most part, but the lesson and values learned carry us onward.

GREAT POST!!

.. Like yourself, I cannot hide them or the tattoos. On being saved I did go down and have a bathing suit put on one of them. The young folks see them and are curious when we have events like the 4th of July and I use them for conversation starters on living for Jesus instead of being driven by pride. The marks of our youth really are not all that bad if we are not ashamed to open up and speak honestly with the young ones.
.. I believe the LORD, our God has a mighty purpose for you in the local church body. God bless and do not hesitate to PM or to email me if you feel the need.

Welcome to the family. I'll bet that like myself you have a lot of scars and two or three of them might even be from a surgeon's knife. There are a lot of us here, in the Family of God, that will be of a kindred spirit.

Just like to point the coming to a realisation that we are sinners and need God's help.
I would call myself a christian now although just a babe as you say. but it was a shock to me when it was pointed out in scripture that there is none rightous no not one, i would have disagreed with that till the sun went down just a few months ago as i felt i was a good person even though i used to sell drugs, fight when i was drunk and generally be a selfish idiot and be unaproachable ! and continue to justyfy myself to myself with great sucess !

So as a definition i would say a person who sees themselves in light of Scripture and not in the light of there own mind as a start of a definition of a Christian and from there the stuggle begins, as you say with sin !
