I've come to realize, to an even greater degree than I previously realized, that for a long time now, I've been making a lot of compromises that I have absolutely NO business making. I now realize more than ever before that nothing but bad can possibly come from this. ALL I've seen come from this is bad.
I used to pray, "God, give me what I think is best for me". Now I pray, "God, Your will be done, let your light shine through me, break me if you must, just be glorified in me".
Christians, God made it about you the day He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be beaten and crucified for your sins; it's not about you anymore, it's about Him. It's time to honor our holy God and be about our Father's business.
'An Interlude to Think'
What James is trying to teach his readers is that they must get their minds off themselves and focus on the main point, it is that their life is in God's hands and they must seek His guidance and forgiveness for their sins. It sounds trite, but over the last two and a half chapters, chapters 2 to 4, James has pointed out some serious problems that are disturbing to any honest reader. So many in the fellowship were in open revolt and following their own desires.
Basically what I've been trying to say, various times, at various places on this board is:
At certain times in my life in the past, I was in some really bad circumstances.
These circumstances made it:
1. a lot easier for me to choose to do the wrong things
2. a lot harder for me to choose to NOT do the wrong things
Yes, I did have a choice. I am in no way, shape, form, or fashion saying the bad circumstances forced me to make the
