In Minnesota and several nearby states, there were Lutheran churches every several blocks. I'm not exaggerating. I'd never seen that many Lutheran churches in my whole life, before I went on this trip. This has gotten me interested in the history of Lutheranism. From what I've heard, Martin Luther had been Roman Catholic, decided that Roman Catholicism needed reforming, and eventually concluded that Roman Catholicism was unreformable.
