Why am I posting book reviews? Because reading books is time-consuming. No one wants to spend a month or two reading a lousy book. I'll offer here my "two cents" on whatever book I finish.
On the Nature of Things, Lucretius
To remedy my gaping void of philosophical knowledge, I have started down that road with Lucretius' work dedicated to a friend, Memmius. This work gives us a look into the Epicurean philosophy with which Paul had contact in Acts 17.

The Sign of the Bow
A veil of misty droplets hung
Colored by the rays of sun;
Fair arc set in the rain-washed sky
Where God's wing'ed creatures fly.
The multi-colored painted bow
Serves as a sign to man below;
Set over land and oceans deep
Reminding us God doesn't sleep.
