Quite a few times lately, I've found myself thinking, "It won't hurt to let my guard down just a little bit, for just a little while.". Ad hominem arguments basically go along the lines of "Person X has some kind of flaw, therefore he or she is in the wrong on issue X.". I often see sin in a person's life being used as an ad hominem argument. Another thing I see, closely related, but not exactly the same, is an unsaved person being unsaved being used as an ad hominem argument. This gets into all kinds of things.
