Yeah I know the title could be misleading however given the fact that I really haven't slept much in the past week I thought it rather clever....

I haven't logged in, in a while because my life has been anything but normal....

Currently I'm in South Carolina, been here since Sunday/Monday (can't really remember) my brother-in-law, Timothy was in a car accident last weekend and is still in critical condition.

Medical Status as of this morning:

Paralyzed from the chest down, pneumonia, bed sores have begun to develop and get infected, he has a blood virus and is on life support and has not woken up.

Family status:
He has two small children by two different women who DO NOT get along. The brother and sister (my niece and nephew) are hardly ever permitted to play together...

My mother in law is in the middle of all this and there is a history of substance abuse by everyone involved (contributed) to the accident.

Prayer Requests:

1) Timothy would wake up and realize that this is NOT the end of his life. His children need him!!
2) Mary (mother) would realize that alcohol will only make things worse
3) The two "melissa's" - kids mom's both named melissa - would grow up and put aside their differences and realize that this is NOT about them!!!
4) That God would cover them with His love and send his spirit of peace!

Ok I know I blogged this but I need to put it in the prayer forum too.

Thanks ya'll! You guys rock!!!

At first glance this did not seem to make very much sense. My first thought was WHAT?!?!?!

However something in his introduction caught my attention so I decided to keep reading:
Great Tradition Christianity holds both unity and diversity together. Christians can be and, at their best, are 'of one mind' about the most important matters related to God, but they also contribute richness to that single worldview with their various perspectives. One major goal of this volume is to portray Christian belief in all its glorious harmony and rich diversity.

So feel free to read along as I tackle this book one chapter at a time....it may take up to a week between postings depending on my schedule with the kids. :)

Chapter 1: Christian Belief - Unity and Diversity
Chapter 2: Sources and Norms of Christian Belief - One and Many
Chapter 3: Divine Revelation - Universal and Particule
Chapter 4: Christian Scripture - Divine Word and Human Words
Chapter 5: God - Great and Good
Chapter 6: God - Three and One
Chapter 7: Creation - Good and Fallen
Chapter 8: Providence - Limited and Detailed
Chapter 9: Humanity - Essentially Good and Existentially Estranged
Chapter 10: Jesus Christ - God and Man
Chapter 11: Salvation - Objective and Subjective
Chapter 12: Salvation - Gift and Task
Chapter 13: The Church - Visible and Invisible
Chapter 14: Life Beyond Death - Continuity and Discontinuity
Chapter 15: The Kingdom of God - Already and Not Yet

Here comes a storm
Let the rains fall down
Throw the windows open wide
I am so behind on my lesson plans due to recent visit from family from out out town (BF has it right - family are like fish - after 3 days they begin to smell) that we are working on linguistics and lit today - busy work so I can get caught up....maybe I should let em watch cartoons......nahhhhhhhh that would be toooo easy.

Oh well gotta go make sure they aren't burning down the kitchen - gotta love lunch and recess . . . .and then I think I'll find myself a nice padded room somewhere.....
