Don't quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest! if you must; but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow;
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit;
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Lord, I come to You for comfort, for so many things
For so long I was holding on to pieces of broken dreams
Learn me to accept, whatever this life brings
Lord I trust that You will help me find my wings

If only I could know, what is mine to hold
I pray that heavens plans unto me will unfold
Learn me to glorify the King of Kings
Lord help me, to find my wings

But most of all I want to know, that I am walking in the truth
I have lost so many things, in the days of my youth
Give me the courage to dare to do great things
Lord I pray, help me find my wings

Let me hold on, let me hold tight
Please don’t let me down, don’t let me loose this fight
Desperate times call for desperate measures
Help me find in Your Word, those hidden treasures

I need You Lord, now more that ever
Help me get through this dry and dusty desert
You search my heart, You know my soul
Dear God take me over, take control

You hear my cries, you hear me groan
Direct my feet, and take me home
This inner fight I ask You to heal
Please strengthen me each time I kneel

When I think about those old dark days
Tears use to run down like sharp razor blades
Shaking form the pain that is in my head
I always wanted to crawl back into my bed

No one thought I was trying,
Truth was, deep inside I was dying
I always said I will never fall apart
Without God I really failed right from the start

I was scared, so unprepared
I was falling apart, life was breaking my heart
God saw my needs, my deepest desires
To call on Him was all He requires

The power came when I was on my knees
He showed me His Mercy and all His good deeds
Until than life was build on a foundation of sand
But He promised to guide me, if I take a stand

So, I met my creator on a day so great
I remember twenty seven October Two thousand and eight
Always told myself you have to be stronger
But on that day I just could not go on alone any longer

He reached way down and took my by the hand
To love one another is His greatest command
In His hands He was holding the key
It was the blood of Jesus that set me free

Sharing my story, not yet been told
Enjoyed the world filled with lies, a world so cold
Every sin and moral defilement I would do
Fear, pride, disorder and confusion too

I would run at night, being a bit dazed,
My heart kept on pounding, it was freedom I craved
I had to get high, I hated to cry
I wanted out, I’ll give God just one try

So I took the first step, and began to moan
Oh God, I cried I can’t do this alone
I gave the second and began cry
Lord I don’t understand, I don’t really know why?

The Lord heard me, He loved me without hesitation
Calling me homeward without reservation
A pardon was purchased and sealed by His blood
That day on the Cross, He washed my sin like a flood

As I approached the Great Father above
I received tender mercies, and unfailing love
I give God the glory and thank Him every day
Because He is the reason, I am still here and alive today
