Dreary Diary, (oops that should be Dear not Dreary)

I've discovered that being a home school mom has it's ups and downs.....today is a "i'm on the parallel beam and God please don't let me fall off"

I am so behind on my lesson plans due to recent visit from family from out out town (BF has it right - family are like fish - after 3 days they begin to smell) that we are working on linguistics and lit today - busy work so I can get caught up....maybe I should let em watch cartoons......nahhhhhhhh that would be toooo easy.

Oh well gotta go make sure they aren't burning down the kitchen - gotta love lunch and recess . . . .and then I think I'll find myself a nice padded room somewhere.....

Being a SAHM is a lot more than meals and cleaning, at least to me.

It means I can be there when they need me any time day or night, when they were in public school i never missed a conference or field trip because of 'work' I was available if they needed to come home because they weren't feeling well...

Being a SAHM means I don't get time off (at least not often) every few months the hubby takes the boys on a man's man camping weekend and I get to stay home - ALONE - blessed be the silence...

However truth be told when they do go on their outings I miss them terribly....

Comparing motherhood to what I did in the military (eod) motherhood is truly "The toughest job you'll ever love"

Trust me though this isn't what I wanted to "be when I grew up" I was going to be the first female 4 star general, either that or the first female chief master sergeant of the air force "suzzie homemaker" wasn't high on my list of "want to be's"

God had different plans for me though. . . when the youngest goes back to public school (in 6th or 7th grade) I may finally have the opportunity to open my dream shop...a place where other SAHM can come together with the kids, exchange clothes, books, have a cup of coffee, read a book etc.... ahhhhh dreams
