What's up with the GAS?!

This sucks! I am a cab driver, and because of the price of oil, a struggling one. I am almost at the point of starting an internet fund-raising site, just to bring in enough money to pat for all of the bills here. The price of gas is an outlandish $3.09 a gallon (for the cheap stuff... sorry, I do not drive Lincolns or Mercedes Benz.. this is the inner city where I both work and live, ya know?) The question I have is, what happened?
I thought part of the reason for going to war in Iraq was to get the price of Gas to drop. Well, that didn't work! Thanks President Bush. My wallet really appreciate that! Not that I am against the war, although I am against the fact that we went against the wrong country to begin with, (Personally, since we are there, I say let's win this thing and get ready for the next one, against the foe we should have fought against in the first place, Iran), but I do not know how much more of this gas price hike I can take. As of right now, it cost $300 to get 100 gallons of oil for my house. I have a 260 tank, and all of that last only about 1 month. (My wife likes it warm, like 70 degrees or so.....maybe I should move to florida....) I don't have over $800 a month to be giving to the oil companies!
On top of that, ever since Catrina, I have stopped trusting big companies totally. Since their "record profits" and all, that really sickened me to no end, and for once, I honestly wanted the Dems to tax them to oblivion.... until I realized that all Big Oil would do is pass that along right back to us, which would hurt my bottom line even more.
So what gives? Is there any solution that will not bring forth bankrupcy? Can anyone do anything to stop all of this gouging of your and my money? Well, I think Guilliani is thinking about at a little, by not being cozy with the Saudis, but I don't know if that is going to be enough. maybe Anwar? Maybe oil drilling on the coastlines? Hey, if Mexico and China is doing it, why for the love of ice cream aren't we? Greenpeace? Send all of them to Jamaica and have them smoke all the green they want, and boot them out of the political process! They are hurting us much more than even they want to, and believe me, with all of the wacky things they have done to hurt us economically in the last 30 years, I believe for certain that they are not looking out for our best interests. My point is that we have plenty of oil in our country. Why not drill, get it, and use it and drop the price of this wretched oil?
But today, the drive-by media is praising attempts by the big oil companies to create alternatives for oil, saying that it will be great for the economy and the environment. But let's take a closer look at this. Fuel cell technology, wind and solar energy, isn't all of that going to cost us a boatload of money to implement? And the costs for getting these fuels are not going to decrease, since it will be new technology, and new tech is never cheap! (Just ask those guys who bought the PS3 when it first came out! Or better yet, just ask me when I bought an x-box 360 when it was orignally $400. New tech is NEVER CHEAP!) So, we have a concerted effort, like with everything else, to lull us into forking over even more money to the big companies to gain things that will not change anything. Thanks big oil! Thanks President Bush, and thank all of those imbeciles that have worked so hard to make my life miserable. You have completed your tasks, with flying colors.
As a side note, to the soldiers out there fighting the good fight. I did not agree with the President to fight this war in Iraq, for I thought, and still maintain, that Iran is the greater threat. However, since we are there, finish the job, because I support each and every one of you all of the way! Do your best, and get back here alive! God loves you, and so do I.
