I am not going to apologize for speaking the name of Jesus. I will take it. If my friends have to become my enemies for me to be with my best friend, Jesus, then that's fine with me. I always knew being a Christian means having enemies, but I never thought that my "friends" were going to be those enemies.

All little girls dream of him.... Idolize him.... Cannot wait till he comes in on his white horse and sweeps them off their feet.... He will be stunning.... He will be strong.... He will be brave.... He will conquer every foe set against her.... Vanquish the dragon that keeps her captive.... Even die for her if need be.... Surely Rachel Scott also dreamed of that one day.... Yet probably didn't think it would happen on tuesday, April 20, 1999....
The day her school came under attack by two of its own students.... The day she was asked if she still believed in God.... The day she said yes.... The day she was shot dead before she could answer as to why....
My daughter tells me that Rachel Scott had written in her diary that she knew that sometime soon her faith would cost her her life.... And that she was not afraid to die.... Because her Best Friend had already conquered death.... And that if she did die she would go to be with Him....
I want to be like Rachel Scott when I grow up....
A lot of times we don't realize the Prize we have ladies.... That our Hero.... Our Knight in shining armor.... Is already here.... My pastors wife said once that we ladies need to realize who we are in Christ.... That we do not need a man to complete us.... That we are not half a person till mister perfect arives on the scene to flip us head over heals.... We already have our conquering Hero....

He is faithful and true ladies.... All a lady can hope for and dream about.... To walk with Him is to walk in victory.... To walk in peace and complete assurance.... Faith that though we do not have that "other half".... That "significant other".... To walk through this life with.... We have Someone better.... Someone who will be there for us though we walk to the ends of the earth.... The end of the age....

You must admit.... No mortal man can POSSIBLY say that.... Though many have professed a love like that.... And most are sincere....
I am going to pause right here to state that this is in no wise a manhating treatise.... But it is a treatise on the problem with making a husband or boyfriend the center of ones whole existance and universe.... And the danger this mentality brings with it....
It is mainly for the ladies.... Yet there are fathers here who may be able to benefit by this as well.... Good Christian men looking for ways to handle their daughters during the "hormone" years.... And I am going to cover a variety of different issues here.... So just be aware that some things might just make your cheeks pink....
In a "gotta have a husband" society things have gone nuts.... There is much our women and girls do nowadays to attract a mate.... And lots do it way too soon.... I have seen swim suits for 8 year olds that have less cotton in them than you can find in an asprin bottle.... Blue jeans with zippers barely an inch long.... Riding so low on the hips certain unmentionables play peekaboo (See? Told ya....)....
I watched a full grown woman walking through my church with a shirt (if you can call it that) the neckline to which was nonexistant.... I was afraid if she bounced down the hall any more vigorously she would fall out of the shirt.... And parts that were NEVER meant to be visible to the general public were bared to the entire church body....
No I am NOT kidding.... Why?
It is things like this that are the reason this SHOOT'N is going OL' SKOOL....
I will start with this quote:

"Out of sight.... Out of mind...."
Ladies you are beautiful.... Each and every one of you.... You are stunning, lovely, vibrant women.... Vital and essential to the world around you.... Because God has made you this way.... Yet every lady reading this knows beauty fades.... Firm skin starts to stretch and wrinkle.... Things start to sag and droop.... Yet when you enter into a covenant with Father God.... When He makes you His.... He makes you beautiful on the inside....

When we come to God.... We come to Him dead in sin and struggling in (AMP says rolling about in) our blood (representing our sin) and He cleanses us and makes us alive in His Son.... He cleans us and clothes us.... Takes care of us and loves us.... He makes us beautiful with His beauty.... Makes us perfect not with our own perfection.... Because we can never reach that.... Not with our own reknown.... With HIS.... It is HIS righteousness we are clothed with.... Because are own is as filthy rags.... We might as well be naked.... See how this passage from Ezekiel shows His love? His tender mercies....
