"The only Color is in a box of crayons"

I spent a night in Nashville Tn. with the girls this weekend. Our intent was to go and have a much needed "girls night out" ...what I received was a much needed revival of compassion in my heart.
As I walked around the city, I encountered Jesus everywhere I went. HIS intent for my "girls night out" was one I will cherish always.
I met a man name Lewis. The "most famous homeless man in Nashville" is how he introduced himself to us. He shared with us candidly bits of his life and his life on the streets. My heart experienced something I have never quite experienced before...sadness AND JOY at the same time. Lewis shared with us Jesus. Absolutely, freely, from the heart shared the love of God with us. This man spent many years in a prison, lives on the streets (which to some can be considered a prison in itself), and joyfully shared his thanksgiving with us. Lewis doesnt see people for their color or nationality, or in material ways...Lewis looks at people for who they are...children of God. Lewis recognizes that we are ALL Gods children no matter what our financial situation is, no matter what are current "prison" may be, or where we were at some point in our lives. He reinforced with his ministry, that we are ALL Gods creatures and in everything give thanks. No matter where we live or dont live...share Jesus with someone.
I am blessed. I am thankful. I am renewed. I am humbled. I am regaining focus.
The Crayon Box SongWhen I was just a little child no higher than your knee,My mother bought a box of crayons, just for me.I picked them up and I opened them up and I looked way down inside,And the colors there reminded me of Jesus when He died.
O...Red is the color of the blood that He shed,Brown is for the crown of thorns they laid upon His head.Blue is for royalty! Within Him did dwell; And yellow is for the Christian who's afraid to tell.
I colored and I colored 'til the crayons were all gone,And though I am much older now, the mem'ry lingers on.And when I see a little child with crayon box in hand,I tell them what they mean to me and hope they'll understand.
O...Red is the color of the blood that He shed,Brown is for the crown of thorns they laid upon His head.Blue is for royalty! Within Him did dwell; And yellow is for the Christian who's afraid to tell.
Afraid to tell of a Saviour who died on Calvary,He died for lowly sinners just like you and me;And someday soon He's coming back to be our King,And the colors of the crayon box we will sing!
O...Red is the color of the blood that He shed,Brown is for the crown of thorns they laid upon His head.Blue is for royalty! Within Him did dwell; And yellow is for the Christian who's afraid to tell.
So, don't you be a Christian, who's afraid to tell!
