I was Reading the magazine headlines while standing in line at the grocers...ever notice how every week or every month these rich and famous people seem to have some new wonderful thing that turns into some new drama the following week? They have money, power, and beauty or at least access to a good plastic surgeon, and can buy beauty if need be. Purchasing for themselves every new gadget out there, all the name brands, even have clothes designed especially for themselves. They travel the world over, have a million "friends" and people worship them...yet they still seek some new wonderful thing or person that will make them happier than the last thing, which must have failed, since they still seek happiness.


As I pondered these things, I recalled watching a little video clip (call it morbid curiosity) about Kim Kardashian's latest fling with herself, botox. There she is, a very beautiful young woman and still not happy, worrying about wrinkles and I don't think she's even old enough to begin to worry about such things. I stared at these article headlines and thought to myself in total amazement, "wow, all that and still miserable, we might work hard to have a few things, but I wouldn't trade it for what any of those people have.....ever."


I thank my God that through faith in Christ Jesus I am content with what I have, what I am and who I am. For if what this world offers could satisfy our souls, we would not continually seek bigger and better things, we wouldn't seek newer and better relationships with people who make us feel special. We who know Christ well, don't need our egos stroked, we don't need physical things to satisfy our every longing.

I know that though this life can be very difficult, sometimes long and miserable; but at the end of it, I have a wonderful God to whom I will be with for all of eternity in glory forever, and that my friends is worth it all!
