He who began a good work in you

There are people in our life's who possibly
Resist coming to know Jesus, even though
our Paths constantly cross each other.

To day I met a Lady I have known for many
years, as we try to deal with my late Mother
s affairs.

There are some members of the Family
Whose blood boils when we have any
dealings with her. From the moment we
first met I have tried to make things move
along at a reasonable pace to no avail!
I could say a lot of horrible things to
describe the situation or person but
the word that comes to me is
procrastination at the highest level. I
would go in to discuss the next step
forward and as soon as I would be
out the door the woman in question
would do nothing till I would prompt
her again. This has gone on for possibly
ten years. What is going on!

For some explicable reason I have not
moved to someone else who could help in a
proper, dare I say, professional way?
Now I am not talking behind the lady's back
because I have expressed my feelings to her.

To day I e-mailed one of my latest blogs to
my self so as I could go to the Library and
print it out and give it to her I was going to
leave it with her secretary.

But having arrived at her office I walked
straight in and talked,

The letter talks about prophecy, and the
Holy Spirit, just after the paragraph about
my Mums house and its condition.

Covering my witness and the business at
Hand.We talked and the Letter was read,
on leaving, it seems things are beginning to
move,( or is it, do not hold your breath
Alan!) I hope it would be read again and
some how the Lord Jesus would open her
eyes to see.

If we read in James Chapter one possibly
the answer lies here.

James 1:1 (KJV)

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord
Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are
scattered abroad, greeting.

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall
into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith
worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work,
that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting
nothing.

There are many people in my Family
Who do not know Jesus as there Savour, the
Children have been more open to-ward
Him, but even they drift away, I hope it will
only be for a season.

Last night I remembered the song that was
sung when being made a Deacon in the
Church last Century,

“ He who began a good work in you .... will
be Faithful to complete it.....will be Faithful
to complete it in you”

.... There was also a Scripture given that
day
Mat 6 verse 6, but it was read from verse 1.
Matthew 6:1-6 (KJV)

1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before
men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have
no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do
not sound a trumpet before thee, as the
hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the
streets, that they may have glory of men.
Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left
hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy
Father which seeth in secret himself shall
reward thee openly.

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be
as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray
standing in the synagogues and in the cor-
ners of the streets, that they may be seen of
men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy
closet, and when thou hast shut thy door,
pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy
Father which seeth in secret shall reward
thee openly.

I had worked with Pastor for a while
before receiving this Scripture, and he
reminded me the day after about what he
had said days earlier, ‘not to let your left
hand know what your right hand is doing”.
But It was Stuart the Elder who gave the
Scripture that day, and when it was read
out by the Pastor he said, “
But thou,
Alan Coltart when
thou prayest enter into thy closet, and when
thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father
which is in secret; and thy Father which
seeth in secret shall reward thee openly
.”
That was a very proud day in our Life's for
For Brenda and I.

We also had a prophecy that day.

There will be many mountains to climb. The
Lord would put my Wife and I on a Spiritual
motor bike, there would be bends, and he
would put one in front and one behind, and
as a sign we would see a man and woman
that day riding on a motor bike.and when
we needed to go over the mountains the
Holy Spirit would rev up and take us up and
over. Then we would coast for a Season,
then there would be more Mountains
to climb, and the Lord would be with
us always, even till the end of time.

This has been a long time climbing, has
patience had its perfect way, is it time for
the Holy Spirit to Rev up our motorbike and
bring us up and over this Mountain?

Alan.
