This is an offshoot from another discussion. It's about salvation, works, Judgement Day and End of Time interpretation so I am not sure if Bible Chat is the right place.

1 Cor 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The above text (IMO) obviously is about Judgement Day.

The question is to understand what is meant with suffer loss.

Someone linked it with Rev 22:15

Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” 14 Blessed are those who wash their robes,5 so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (ESV)

I don't believe it myself because what's written in Rev 22:15 doesn't sound as "saved".

I never understood Rev 22:15 anyway. It's stated after Judgement Day, the New Earth and then we read: Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

How does this fit with the doctrine that on Judgement Day there are only 2 possibilities, with God or thrown in the lake of fire. Rev 22:15 seems to imply there is sort of in between place. I don't get it. Can someone connect the dots?

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis' fascination with the devil took on remarkable new twists Tuesday, with a well-known exorcist insisting Francis helped "liberate" a Mexican man possessed by four different demons despite the Vatican's insistence that no such papal exorcism took place.
The case concerns a 43-year-old husband and father who traveled to Rome from Mexico to attend Francis' Mass on Sunday in St. Peter's Square. At the end of the Mass, Francis blessed several wheelchair-bound faithful as he always does, including a man possessed by the devil, according to the priest who brought him, the Rev. Juan Rivas.
Francis laid his hands on the man's head and recited a prayer. The man heaved deeply a half-dozen times, shook, then slumped in his wheelchair.
The images, broadcast worldwide, prompted the television station of the Italian bishops' conference to declare that according to several exorcists, there was "no doubt" that Francis either performed an exorcism or a simpler prayer to free the man from the devil.
The Vatican was more cautious. In a statement Tuesday, it said Francis "didn't intend to perform any exorcism. But as he often does for the sick or suffering, he simply intended to pray for someone who was suffering who was presented to him."
The Rev. Gabriele Amorth, a leading exorcist for the diocese of Rome, said he performed a lengthy exorcism of his own on the man Tuesday morning and ascertained he was possessed by four separate demons. The case was related to the legalization of abortion in Mexico City, he said.
Amorth told RAI state radio that even a short prayer, without the full rite of exorcism being performed, is in itself a type of exorcism.
"That was a true exorcism," he said of Francis' prayer. "Exorcisms aren't just done according to the rules of the ritual."
Rivas took the Vatican line, saying it was no exorcism but that Francis merely said a prayer to free the man from the devil.

The nurse said that it would be painful and said to take some pain killers before hand. Has anyone had this done. Tell me the truth about the pain. I need to know whether or not to order something strong or just take something over the counter. I know every experience is different, but the nurse was adamant about taking the pain killers.

So if this is true then how should we see our self's growing in Christ if we are already saved, and glorified?

Are we suppose see our self's slowly growing from one spiritual plateau to another? Is It the Spirit man inside, the hidden man of the heart that's changing?

I have been best friends with this girl for about three or four years now. She is also a good friend of my family and considers herself apart of the family.
The thing is I have feelings for her that extend beyond friendship, and have for a long time.
There are two problems with this, one being, because she is so close to my family she kind of sees me as a little brother.
The other problem is, she is currently still in love with one of her exes. The guy is a real jerk and treats her like dirt... :(
I guess my question is how can I make her see me as a potential boyfriend instead of a friend, and how can I prove I would be better for her than the other guy?
I really need advice, because I'm at a loss as to how to approach with this.

Is it true that when we die, we will sleep until the second coming of Jesus? I came across this doctrine a few days ago and I don't know what to make of it, but it does not feel right in my spirit. I really don't know whether it would be a worthwhile study. Would it be a waste of time to explore it in more depth? I really don't know anything about it, so I would like some input from you guys. Paul said that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and I accept that, but now I see there are other doctrines about life after death.

"Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery (unlawful intercourse w/ another man's wife): 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a WOMAN to lust after her hath committed adultery (unlawful intercourse w/ another man's wife) with her already in his heart."

In context one would think that the WOMAN would be a married woman not women in general which is taught incorrectly IMO.

Also, the word LUST carries a meaning that lines up with the word Covet. The 10th commandment reads "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, etc..."

Covet means to have a desire with the intent to steal (Think King David's story).

Can you lust or covet an unmarried woman? Who are you stealing her from? It doesn't make sense. I'm not sure when looking at a un married woman and finding her beautiful and wishing to get married started being considered sin (lust?).

Basically everyone has committed adultry in that context if you apply that to all women. How can you committ adultry with someone who has never been married?
