View Full Version : The Soul's Rescue

How solitary the soul, the human condition.
How dusty and dry the well-traveled road.
Only paper people drudging by in scorching heat.
Glittering facades along the road fade to dingiest grey.
Then crumble, crashing with deafening noise.
Now only rubble is everywhere.
The dust is blowing, swirling, dissipating.
Dead blackness fills the heavens, discord diminishes.
Nothing exists anymore, just the soul.

Now silence reigns...
The tender soul is empty...solitary.
No earthly thing stands or resists the ravage of time.
The soul is falling...falling...
Face down, trembling, agonizing in emptiness, in tremendous pain
Now dimming...fading...surrendering...

Surrender?
Jesus, living, real, grasps with warm hands the dying soul,
With passionate face and shining eyes, swiftly, deftly.
Smiling, holding, rejoicing, loving, knowing, understanding,
Raising, breathing in energy, life.
Longing for, beaming, shining, filling,
Overcoming, overwhelming...
With strength...gentleness...reality...
permanence...Himself.

The writing is a little rough but it contains a message, a very grand message that each of us should find in our own hearts.
