Sometimes I am afraid I don't believe.but then I go right back to praying. It scares me, sometimes, I think maybe there is nothing after we die. But I know better, why does this happen to me. I have had dreams about rapture. seeing everyone arond me going up to heaven people next to me like my husband and there I sit.

Be encouraged and take heart! Our Lord Jesus reigns and is in control. ;)

Walela, with the sorts of questions you have the best place for you to get answers for them is in our New In Christ forum. I'll move this there for continued discussion. :)

Every Christian has entertained the same thoughts you have. You are not alone!

We don't have proof that there is something on the other side of death. That's why we live by faith. And remember, Satan likes to discourage Christians by whispering those doubts into your mind.

you know, whenever I'm in a growing season and getting really close to God in an area of my life, thats often when the worst dreams and thoughts come, causing doubt in God, doubt in myself, doubt in every little thing - but we have an awesome and very effective weapon to shatter those discouragements and that is the word of our testimony.

You can pinpoint a time that you accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, simply remember who you belong to and call on Jesus, He never fails to chase those shadows away.

Satan is like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.... but he has no teeth, no claws, no effectiveness, Christ took that away from him a long long time ago - all he can do is lie and try to cause us all to doubt that Christ achieved our redemption perfectly.

Just in the fact that you are afraid that you don't believe is actually a good sign that you do believe!!.
None of our faiths are much bigger than a mustard seed (has anyone moved a mountain today?) and we all struggle with the remaining old man who 'hangs around' our dying bodies stirring up doubts and believing every lie of satan. This is where God's Word is important. Despite what we feel and what circumstances often dictate, we are to hold fast to God's Word which is a sure anchor to our soul.
Here is one of my favorite verses I cling to when my ship starts taking on water.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Rom 5:9-10 KJV

I can't wait for the Rapture! Come quickly, Lord Jesus! I write new songs everyday. They just pop into my head. I've never heard them before! They are all about living the Christian life. So what happens? satan sends me a few secular songs from long ago, songs I would never write, never sing, to disrupt my Christian-song-writing thoughts.

If I give in to one of them and find myself singing it or humming it or whistling it or whatever, it is time for me to run, not walk, to 1 John 1:9. After doing what it says there, I need to thank Him, thank Him, thank Him, for who I am IN HIM.

Amen!!!

I believe that you are as Threebigrocks has said, a new Christian since this is in the New In Christ forum. I don't know your life story as a Christian, but, I think that it seems you are new to the family of Christ.

So, I think you being scared is just an emotion that He will help you deal with as you mature in your growth as a Christian. I wish you all the luck in getting past this, and, feel like you can do anything.
