Hi everybody! Warm greetings from north of the border: Canada!
I am new here. I belong to one other Christian forum. I have never joined another Christian forum before. I might be a bit slow here at first as I find my way around the forums and get acquainted with everyone.
I have been a believer since 1976. A member here directed me to this site. I am thankful for that.
God bless you and take care!
Michael :)

Hope to see you around the forum.....
Hi cdo and warm greetings from a Canadian bro'!
I just joined this forum and already feel like a member. Thanks to all of you.
You are from Georgia, right? Dr. James Mallory, author of The Kink and I, came up to my former church in Toronto one cold February winter morning. He was from Georgia and he said that when he looked out the windows at the snow he felt like he was surrounded by tons of grits!
Take care cdo...nice to 'meet' you.

Nope...Mounties are more commonly known as the RCMP--the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. My wife and I just saw them do the famous RCMP Musical Ride at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto that just closed recently. They are amazing. I can't link yet but google them. Google the Ride. You like horses? Interesting stuff.
There was a tv show called Due South. Ever watch that? It was kind of neat.
By the way, I am sure no techinical wizard. Actually I am a bit of a dummy in this area. What do you expect from a guy who is still trying to figure out how a light bulb works!
Anyway, I think I just hit my 10th post. Now I have to wait a week before I am up and running full throttle. Now is a good time to learn patience, eh?
Oh yeah...the "eh?"-- very Canadian! We really do say that up here!

Hi livingwaters...thanks for dropping by and extending a welcome to me. I have been in a few states such as Michigan, Pennsylvannia, New York, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana and in January I'll touch base with Florida. But I have never been to Texas. Last I heard is that you "don't mess with Texas". Guess I better watch my step with you, eh?
Seriously though, thanks and all my best to you and yours. Oh, by the way it is only really cold in winter. However, we are gearing up for a federal election in mid October and that only means one thing--lots of hot air up here!

Hi HisLeast...a warm hello from 'back home'. Yeah, we're still strong and free. However, on a serious note, the reports of our Canadian boys dying in Afganistan is sad and alarming. We're getting close to 100. I still find it hard to believe that these young men are coming home in a flag drapped casket. I'm not used to these ceremonies.
But on a lighter note it is good to meet another "Canuckelhead". Where from Canada are you from? I have family in the States, by the way.
Take care HisLeast.
With warm wishes from a Canadian bro',
Michael

Its a reality I lived with all my life. My father served in the infantry while I grew up and later transitioned over to INT. He was sent to Formerly-Yugoslavia on Peacekeeping missions. I remember my mom near tears reading a front page story of how stressed some hockey-wife was that her hubby might come home with a pulled muscle or busted bone. A week earlier a few of our boys got their jeep machine gunned and neither of 'em made it. As for my own family... I think the things my dad saw there are still haunting him all these years later. I hope Canada is a little more aware of its army and the sacrifices those people are making.
But on a lighter note it is good to meet another "Canuckelhead". Where from Canada are you from? I have family in the States, by the way.
Being an army brat, I'm from all over the place. I guess the home I made for myself before moving here is Ottawa, but I have fond memories of Fredricton, Winnipeg, Petawawa (On.), and London.
With warm wishes from a Canadian bro',
Thanks man, I'll need 'em now that the summer is moving on. Hopefully some of the other Canucks will make their presence known in short order.

Hi amazzin! I wonder how many Canucks on these boards?
Anyway, as for Harper--is that 'go' as in 'go away' or 'go get 'em!' :D
Here's two political quips for you:
Politics is a lot like underwear: The longer you're in it the dirtier it gets.
Politics is like a bunch of bananas: they're all yellow, they hang together in bunches and there's not a straight one among them!
Thanks for the welcome. See ya later.

I am not aquainted with army life of any kind. My wife certainly knows the pros and cons of the military. She knows all about living on bases and living in so many different locales. She has literally lived in homes scattered across Canada from coast to coast. Her heart is set on Alberta and we hope in the future, God willing, to settle there. She was born in Quebec City and is french but she says "I'm a Canadian born in Quebec by mistake!" She is an ardent Canadian nationalist. Her family left Quebec for Ontario because of the political strife in that province. I remember in 1975 being booted out of a french book store in Quebec City because I could not fullly understand the store clerk. I had been trying to find a book that I could translate as I was taking grade 13 french at the time. She pointed to the door and told me to get out! (Va-t-en? I forget the phrase.)
Anyway, thanks for your post. I am new to this board but so impressed with it. The people here are great. I am delighted to have been led here.
Take care HisLeast. Thanks again. Talk to you later some time.
