Hi guys,
I'm a relatively new Christian and, as expected, still have questions. One I have trouble getting my head around oddly enough are cavemen.
http://www.lucyexhibition.com/lucys-discovery.aspx
The link specifically talks about the discovery of "Lucy" who scientists believe lived approximately 3.2 million years ago. Basically I'm trying to figure out where Lucy fits with the bible and if she would be considered a human? Thank you for your time and any thoughts you have on this.

Hi Philemon,
Welcome to the forum! We're glad you came here to post your questions. :)
What is your understanding about Lucy, do you think Lucy was a caveman, or something different?

I guess I'm not completely sure on that one, I suppose she is the earliest of our early ancestors. I guess my main question is: when is it generally believed human beings came into existence? And with Lucy out there, where do Adam and Eve enter the scene?

According to the Bible, man was created on the very same day as all of the land-dwelling animals, which would include primates. See Genesis 1.
I think this website can help you: http://answersingenesis.org/home/area/qa.asp Try doing a search on Lucy on that site and see what you can find.

The above link is from the site Tanya mentioned. It is a 4 part lecture you can watch about "Lucy". It's very interesting and will open your eyes as to how "scientist" today twist things.
I love the answers in genesis website!

There is no evidence of 'hybrid' species (that would indicate marcro-evolution). Finding the primitive jaw-bone of an apes ancestor and drawing a cool looking picture based on no evidence does not prove anything.
