First of all, Jesus gives us an example to follow when praying:
Luke 11:1-4
1 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nivp&book=Luk&chapter=011&navigated=yes#)One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
2 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nivp&book=Luk&chapter=011&navigated=yes#)He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done. As in heaven, so on earth. 3)Give us day by day our daily bread. 4)And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.
I have been guilty of this same thing so I believe the Lord convicted me. I call it "condescending" prayer. It is prayer that is not sincere to begin with, well, could be sincere but not in a loving way. It is prayer that rings out loud and clear "I know Truth" and you don't. I am right and you are wrong. I know God and you do not. Remember the two men in the bible:
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
luke 11:9-14
9 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Luk&chapter=018&navigated=yes#) Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Luk&chapter=018&navigated=yes#) "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Luk&chapter=018&navigated=yes#) The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Luk&chapter=018&navigated=yes#) I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' 13 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Luk&chapter=018&navigated=yes#) And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' 14 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Luk&chapter=018&navigated=yes#) I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
Yes, pray for others, but only with true humility and love towards them, especially if you are praying for them in public(on these boards). Remember God said
Matthew 25:40 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nkjvp&book=Mat&chapter=025&navigated=yes#)And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
God sees and hears all and again, He knows our hearts.
With love, your sister in Christ, denise

Agreed!!! GOD does know our hearts, only HIM....I believe that one can sincerely pray for another, even if they do not agree on things. Amen...I know, when I say, "I'll pray for you," that's what I mean. It will be a sincere. heartfelt, godly prayer. I don't pray out of anger for others, even if I disagree with them. I surely know that I'm not perfect. When someone disagrees with me, I hope they can still pray sincerely for me.Amen
Thanks.:)

It also says praying without ceasing... II Thessalonians 5-17 Praying the same sentence and fashion in that manner is praying with ceasing.. Just wanted to shove that in there :P
When i say I pray for you.. I do not mean it in a wrong way.. why would it be bad.. praying for someone is showing that you are concerned about that someone.... I love all people.. I don't pray without love... If you think i did or do....

Yes, your post earlier did remind me of this issue on prayer. But my post here is for everyone who cares to read it and take inventory on their own relationship with Christ. It is all between them and God.
On the Lords Prayer, Luke 11:1-4
1 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/printer-friendly.pl?version=nivp&book=Luk&chapter=011&navigated=yes#)One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

even if someone prayed that alone, for all their life, it still would be unceasing prayer in my way of seeing it. But, Jesus was not telling us that we were to pray "those words" but to use His teaching and integrate His principles into our own prayers. For example, always acknowledge who you are praying to and His Holiness, and in your prayers always acknowledge that you want only His Will to be done, ask for what we need or maybe want, but never forget to acknowledge our sin and ask forgiveness, remembering that we must forgive also to be forgiven, and ask that we are not led into temptation but deliver us from satan and the ways of the "world". We can of course use our own words. The main thing about prayer is that no matter what we say or can't say to Him, He knows even before we pray.
God bless, a sister in Christ, denise

I agree !!! prayer, a most precious word from someone who 'says they will pray or your in my prayers etc...' A small word that means so much to all.Believing we are not alone in prayer..knowing there is more in number in prayer. But,also to believe 'it' was said in truth and not for show.I believe the Holy Spirit lets us know the truth even in 'offered prayer' or 'prayer asked for.'My prayer for those that may not think much about it as being important to us that God will open their heart to this issue on prayer,in Jesus name, in Christ,Darlene

Once I was praying with another sister in Christ [I thought] for a young lady that was not present. I had prayed for her, and was "agreeing" while this other lady prayed.
Suddenly I began to feel really sick, like I would vomit, it was a very vile feeling in my spirit, and I asked the Lord what was going on. The Spirit of the Lord revealed to me that what the lady was praying out of her mouth was NOT what she was praying from her heart. He said she did not love this other lady, and did not wish her well...smh!!! I stopped "agreeing", and just waited for her to finish "praying".
Afterwards I asked her what was that??? I told her what the Lord had revealed to me, and she admitted it was truth. I told her she needed to repent, and not to ask me to "co-sign" to any foolishness, or wickedness ever again. I didn't pray with her anymore.
Saints, the Lord will reveal what is in a person's heart...especially when we pray if we are sincere.

[I]Hi Lady Ashanti,This is an amazing story !! I don't understand how some people can go about a fake Christian life for our Lord and 'think they have peace with God' Even if she had issues with the other lady, she might have been honest and told you she had some unfinished ????? with her and could not pray at that time for her. This should not be!! Honest is so important.I thank our God for His Holy Spirit that reveals things to us in our spirit :ppI am grateful she come out and admitted her false sense of prayer but,she knew she could not lie to God's Spirit and believe me she knew exactly what she was praying was not in love, neither in her heart.People in that situation should have our prayers to overcome this false sense of what the real reason they pray for.:pray:
And You were so right to follow your spirit and confront her, :hug:which could really open her eyes to see.We have such an amazing God we serve :ppBless your heart for what God is working in you life:)
If you get time..,I posted in 'Maturing in Christ about 'white lies' about a situation:not wanting to hurt my friend about personal things. And I was asking if others would share about situations with 'white lies' I'm good on that situation and it has to do with being honest.:)
God Bless you and God continue to be with you,in Christ,Darlene  your sis in Christ:)

How many here TRULY pray for your enemies and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you....
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
this is where the rubber hits the road and where fruit is produced and is seen by those fellow Christians and those who are lost... They will know you are His disciple when you follow and do His command here ...... this goes against what the world teaches.. it teaches revenge, revenge, and get even........
by doing what He teaches they will notice and recognize that you have a different perspective on those who hurt you, persecute you, and despitefully use you....
praying for your enemies and for those who persecute you and despitefully use you is truly seen in action when Jesus cried from that bloody tree when His enemies had beat him to a bloody pulp and driven nails into His hands and feet.... What did He do? Heres what He said.....
Father, forgive them for they know not what they do....

Once we open our mouths, if we are indeed authentically born-again Believers, the only possible prayer is spiritual, inspired by the Holy Spirit. Anything less is the equivalent of the babel going on at that well-known tower. Only when we are praying in the spiritual nature are we able to forgive and to ask God to bless those who we once called "the enemy," no matter who they were. I remember thinking that I was praying when I was not. The prayer was coming from the flesh, the natural man, the sinful nature, the world. Usually, it was all about me. What a marvelous, wonderful, awesome Truth to understand: that when I say "I", it is the spiritual nature, not the flesh!!! POW! ZING! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!
Thank You, Father, that you have turned my life around! Thank You that You are overcoming the flesh, the natural man, the sinful nature, the world, with Your Truth. Now I have the blessed privilege of KNOWING that I am in the presence of the Holy Spirit when I pray, ever rejoicing that I am in communication with the Creator of the Universe, God the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit! Thank You!
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Hi, Sis...
I was so shocked because I had know her for some time, I mean I wasn't surprised that she thought she could fool me, [I am human and in flesh], but how did she think she could fool God, and what made her think He would honor a wicked prayer???:o
Things only got worst later because she came to me and told me the Lord said I was to move out of my beautiful apartment with my 3 sons, and go into the streets by faith giving it all to her, her husband, and her 3 sons.
I told her that IF that was the Lord, He would have told me something about it. Also, as a married woman, her husband was to provide for her, and her family, not me. I was a divorced mom, and the Lord had provided, and been my husband and would not have me put my children in the street for the sake of her children. I later had a meeting with her and her husband, and he agreed and was shocked she had said that to me...smh!!!
I will come to your other thread...

Not only is she trying to deceive you, now prophesying falsely in God's name.Wow...She's walking a thin line :eek:I'm sure her husband was surely :eek:ing out.I would give it over to God and be done with it.She could have other problems too! Just be careful when you see her.
I know that this wicked world continues to get more wicked and satan is trying his 'so called best'to even try to get to God's children~~false Christian's~~their everywhere...spiritual discernment helps me 'Alot'.We need to pray for all God's children for protection just as much as we pray for the lost.Jesus said there would be a falling away before He returned and 'it' keeps manifesting like no tomorrow.
