I've asked a similiar question in the past, but wanted to bring this topic back up again. How do you know what God's will is for you in your life? How do you know if you are living in God's will? How do you live in God's will?
I'm at a place in my Christian walk where I want to live fully for God and surrender my whole life over to Him. I've wanted to do this for a while, but there has always been something that I wanted to do or handle in my own way instead of turning it over for God to handle. But I've finally given up all of that and am now ready to fully surrender to God. I know God's plans for my life are so much better than any plans I could have for myself and that my life will be so much more fulfilling and blessed by doing by surrendering.

To understand God's will for us personally, we first need to understand God's will for all of us. We can find this in Scripture and He really does give us enough right there. For two examples among many, read Micah 6:8 and 2 Pet 1:5-8.
Of course we do all want to have a private revelation about God's will, or even better, a daily "to-do" list from God but that is something God chooses to reveal when and to whom He chooses. We can't force that either.
If you follow what God has revealed in His word, then you will be doing exactly what He wants you to do. The more you know God as He has revealed Himself in His word, the more you will know if what you are doing is in accordance with His will or not.
Your job right now as a new believer is to sit at Jesus' feet and learn of Him, like Mary of Bethany. Over time He will make known to you how He will use you.

Well said by Tanya.
As we abide in His Word it will with His Spirit mold and shape us into WHO we should be. God will shape our character and our character will walk in line with WHAT God wants for us.

God's will is for you to use everything you have (job, home, life, etc) to glorify him. Speak to co-workers about Christ, use your home to have fellowship, bible studies, dinner, with other believers or non-believers. glorify him with your giving not just money, but your stuff, or your time.
But behind it all these will really bring joy to your life and you'll have alot of fun

Hi,
God made us in His image. He said everything He made was good. We are still in His image, though fallen because of the sin in the garden.
We are made for RELATIONSHIP with the Heavenly FATHER. Sin breaks that fellowship. But His forgiveness restores it. That forgiveness is available through Christ. God shares Himself with us when we seek Him with all our heart.
below is a part of a post I made months ago:
Someone I know and have a lot of respect for wrote in his book: " ...If you want to know the Lord more deeply and obey Him more readily, you will need to begin with knowing Him more intimately. The believer's "Divine Domino Theory" is really very simple and works as follows:
Priority time given to Bible study and prayer moves you to know God --->Knowing God moves you to love God --> Loving God moves you to worship and obey God."
These words greatly impacted my life. Or, at least, applying them did.
I have been listening to some great messages from the Lord this week. I won't say a great speaker (although he is) but that is because he is allowing God to use him to help us understand the answer to just what you are asking here. This week's message can be summed up - in a nutshell - so to speak (although there is MUCH more):
We are to Experience and express God's Presence everyday, everywhere, with everyone.
This evangelist last night reminded us:
Jesus said to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself." Later Jesus even gave a stronger directive - that we love others 'as (He) has loved us'.
Powerful messages from those few words of Jesus.
Satan loves it when we bicker and argue over doctrine, or over anything that takes us away from the relationship we are created for. He wants us to be distracted from the MAIN THING - being God's message to all we meet. I mean that. Our lives are supposed to be as 'salt and light' in this world. I want my life to be a vessel cleansed each day, filled anew each day with the fruit of the Spirit. Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness and Self-control. Not my own, but HIS. I desire that my life be so filled with the Lord that when others see me they know that the love, joy, ... are from GOD, not my own doing.
Oops. I hate long posts, and here I am doing it again! :hmm:

I bless and praise the Lord for the gracious work He has done in your heart and will continue to do.
Here is a study that was life changing for me, and for many.
Moderator, it is a link to a Bible Study resource..

God's primary purpose for you is to become transformed into the image of His Son and, as others have posted, that is best done by sitting at the feet of Jesus and learn about Him primarily through His word.
~But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord~
2Corinthians 3:18
But the study above is supurb, also.

Because we are accountable to Him, and where there is accountability there has to be a pursuit of wisdom on our part. By pursuing holiness we are pursuing His will in our lives, which is to: 1. become more like the Son; and 2. carry His message to the ends of the earth.
We are God's will if we endeavor to live in submission to Him.
