According to scripture Jesus went to "hell" or sheol and freed all the spirits that laid there right?

"living one. I was dead, but look-I am alive forever and ever! I have the keys of Death and Hades" revelations 1:18

Wich means that when we die we now can go to heaven right?
So then why did he ask us to pray "thy kingdome come"? would'nt that imply that judment is to come for all at the same time and when this does we will be able to live in his NEW KINGDOME? :hmm:

Romans 8:1-"There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit."

Judgement will come upon the world to them that rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you are a born again believer, you are safe in the arms of Him who died for you.

Well I put all my love and trust in God and try my hardest to follow his steps so Im hoping I end up with him...but my question is...will i be judged right away?:confused

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word and believeth on him who sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24).

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God (1 John 5:13).

By grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ apart from any human deeds (Eph 2:8-9), we receive eternal life, and yes, believers will be judged, but it won't be to determine their eternal destiny, but their rewards in heaven: Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burnt, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire (1 Cor. 3:13-15).

I'm not sure what kind of judgement you are worried about. You are not going to be judged as to whether you have done good enough to be saved. You are saved exclusively by believeing in Jesus Christs sacrifice, and it being enough of a payment for your redemption.

Joh 6:28-29
(28) Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
(29) Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Paul said, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."

We pray, "thy kingdom come ON EARTH as it is in heaven."

We are not praying therefore, about when we die and go to be with Jesus. We are praying for more of His ways to be manifest in our lives here ON THE EARTH.

Hope that helps.

Hi lithiumx22,

So then why did he ask us to pray "thy kingdome come"? would'nt that imply that judment is to come for all at the same time and when this does we will be able to live in his NEW KINGDOME? :hmm:

The Kingdom of heaven isn't the same thing as heaven. Heaven is where your spirit will go when you die, and you will be in the presence of God and at rest and peace, but your body will still be in the earth. When Jesus returns, He will raise your body from the dead in glory, and He will establish His kingdom on the earth.

Jer 23:5

"Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD,
"That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
NKJV

Rev 20:5-6
Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
NKJV

The judgment is according to our works. (2 Cor 5:9-11 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20cor%205:9-11;&version=50;)) If you are a child of God, you automatically go to heaven when you die because salvation is by faith and not works. But being in heaven as it is now is not permanent. It is where the souls of the saints are waiting until the resurrection of the body. Even Christians will be judged for their deeds, and this judgment will determine your position in the kingdom. Read Luke 19:11-27 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2019:11-27;&version=50;).
