View Full Version : I need some mascara help tonight, please!

Hey everyone. :)

Okay, I feel a little embarrassed here. I rarely, if ever, wear makeup... but today I decided to play around with some. Not a ton, but it included a darker mascara for my eyelashes. Now here's the kicker.... I forgot, TOTALLY, to get any makeup remover. I need this stuff off my face sometime tonight.... and the nearest drugstore's on the other side of town. I COULD try hot water and a washcloth, but wouldn't that just smear black all over my face? I've asked the other girls living here if anyone had makeup remover..... SO far, no takers. Any tips, please? Would cold cream take it off, maybe? Normally, I wouldn't care too much but I have to be up bright and early in the morning for my tutoring placement, and I REALLLLLLY can't show up and work with the grade eights looking like a raccoon. ;)

Thank you in advance.....

Cold cream followed by lots of soap and (lukewarm) water should do the trick!

Cover Girl makes a "waterproof" washable mascara that comes off with soap and water. I say waterproof in quotes because it's more water-resistant, but it's still pretty good.

Thanks, threejane! :)

Edit..... wellllll..... mostly success. I managed to get cold cream in my eye (I'm a mess! ;) ) but it all mostly came off. I'll just have to wash my face again tomorrow morning before I go out and hope for the best! I learned my lesson. Note to self..... BUY SOME MAKEUP REMOVER!

I use plain old baby oil to remove all my make up. Then wash my face and apply alittle lotion.

Ooooh, baby oil. That'd do it. Thanks, Sherrie. Next time I'm at the drugstore I'll pick some up so I can have it on hand. :)

I finally bought eye makeup remover, but before that I would use olive oil soap. I'm a huge fan of Kiss My Face soaps--they leave my skin really soft and they're great at removing makeup, even mascara and long lasting lipstick.

I use the Mary Kay eye make-up remover, but when I'm out, Vaseline works wonders too.

Hmm..... Vaseline. Okay.

Here's the funny thing.... for a "going away to teacher's college" gift, my boyfriend's mom gave me the makeup I've got with me, and it's all Mary Kay!..... and after I got here, we realized she'd forgotten to toss in some Mary Kay makeup remover.... and I keep forgetting to buy any makeup remover in general.
