Hi, everyone
I was saved by the grace of God several years ago and have since learned many things through much trial and error. Nonetheless, Jesus has been true to his Word that He would never leave or forsake me (although it seemed so sometimes).
I was asked to explain in a few words what I would like to contribute to this board. I think the most important thing for any Christian is to reach out to other people, especially those who do not know Christ as their Savior and to present them with God's Gospel of eternal salvation, as well as to encourage those who through circumstances may have fallen into a ditch of despondency and hopelessness. Believe me, that can easily happen to a Christian, especially when a cloud of rejection and misunderstanding hangs over his head. In addition, I believe, as the Bible says, that we should speak the truth in love. That does not mean that everything one says or writes should be taken as full Gospel truth. We are encouraged to test all things and to do so we need to acknowledge and proclaim that God's Word is is the inerrant and eternal truth (2 Tim 3:16).
What do I expect of this board? To treat me as a fellow Christian traveler on his way to heaven. I've noticed that several threads are closed because of the many heated discussions. I once heard an atheist say that "Christians are the only creatures who have the knack to differ on something they believe is the inerrant truth of God. To quote their own book of truth - 'that's a full-blown mystery." I was shocked to hear this from the mouth of an enemy of God and it immediately drove me to His Word to see whether any of the apostles ever had their own tiffs and fights over the Gospel. To my surprise I noticed that Paul and Peter and Paul and Barnabas also had their differences.
What brought me to this board? Their are several other Christian boards on the internet and this one happened to appeal to me the most.
