As long as it is Quarantined you are ok. Look for a trash can or red x. Maybe it can be healed. Would be better at helping you if I knew the anti-virus program you are using.

Oh Hey Ashlee, I hope I'm not cutting off Sherrie, but with the McAfee Suite, all you have to do is call up the 'restore' function on the home page. From there you will find on the left top corner: Programs and Cookies and Files.
If you hit Files, you will then find on the lower right- hand corner the option to delete this file. Even if you don't, McAfee quarantine will keep it from harming your computer.
I looked up your trojan and it is low-risk. PS: you rarely ever never know where they come from.

Ashley, Your Vista Sp1 might not download & install properly until you disable your McAfee. Sp1 is very touchy about that. You disable the McAfee firewall in security center which is in the control panel. just select off.
If you are on dial-up as you say, yeah, you do have a bit of a wait.
And of course you don't want to forget to re-enable your McAfee after Sp1 installs.

I would hit it and go to bed. Sp1 is well worth it, I've had it a long time, and my Vista computer never has a problem. You still may have a problem installing, however, if your third-party anti-virus is not disabled.
Not everybody has had that problem, but many have..just a heads-up.
I still use my XP to talk with you and forums most of the time, but I think the Sp1 is just fine.
Have a blessed Sunday, Ashlee.:)

If it was me, I'd go to bed. Then, tomorrow, shut off McAfee first, then hit install and get ready for a long wait. But if there is no interference from McAfee, Sp1 installs very nicely these days. there should be no problem.
Or you could do that before you went to sleep... either way, I hope it works out for you, and will pray about it.:) Ya, keep your AOL on.

One more thing Ashley... your 'Windows' firewall will still be on, or needs to be on. OK, I'm outta here.
