I love that hymn.
And there's SO much I have to thank Him for, praise Him for, tonight.
- Day by day, He's healing the friend of mine who was in a bad car accident. Progress is coming slowly, but it's coming, and although her memory's been affected... her faith sure hasn't been. Her mom, she can't bring up memories of. Same with the rest of her family, and her friends.... but she sure does know that God's with her. And in time, doctors are saying the rest may come back in bits and pieces too! :) Physically, she's also starting to really heal, and nothing major's hurt or out of place. Thank You, God.
- I'm living on a campus that "celebrates diversity" (which is usually codeword for 'anything goes').... so I decided to see if I could use that love of "diversity" to my advantage.... and I sure can! They happily allowed me to set up a women's bible study/bible reading time group for our residence section, and told us to just pick a room and a time and they'd make sure it was free for us! Wow. God's wonderful, to help us all meet once weekly.
- God's blessed me with a wonderful community outreach opportunity in the last few days, to do with reading to seniors. I've been matched up with a quirky, funny lady who LOVES cats like me, but can't see to read her Bible anymore. Lord, THANK YOU sooooo much for the opportunity to be with her. It's humbling to see how God uses us to help those who have been faithfully with Him for longer than 70 years.... He never DOES forget His children.
- Tomorrow (Sunday) my boyfriend's getting baptized, and daily, he's displayed such a passion for Christ in His life. He's constantly wanted to learn more, to grow in Christ.... and to grow in Christ with me. This has been a total 180 degree turn. And although we're "long distance" this year, he's coming to visit next weekend, and we'll get to go to church together. :pp
Life seems to ebb and flow in waves. One week, it seems as though everything's askew... and the next week, I see God working to pick up the pieces and hand them back to us, better than they ever were. I feel so much like Doubting Thomas sometimes, wishing I "could see"... so impatient to "have proof" of God's work.... that I miss the forest for the trees. So that's the last thing I'm thanking and praising God for, tonight. His infinite patience with ME, and His reminder to me that He's constantly working even when we can't TELL that He is. :hug:
