Rev 17:6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
Rev 17:7 But the angel said to me, "Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the Beast carrying her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.
Why did John marvel?
I am sure that John would have known all the scriptures about Babylon, but this is 'MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.'
And why in many translations, is this wrote in capital letters?
Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
This seems present tense to me. So which city would have been reigning over the kings of the earth, at that time?
