Hey 365,

Well, repentance was a good choice. In the coming days you'll have opportunities to make sure you remain on that path of repentance. Be sure you take them. Next, find yourself a mentor. When I hit rock bottom, my church was merciful and found one for me. You need someone to help you back up on your feet and keep you accountable.

I know its an unbearable place to be. I know it well. But remember that the Lord always corrects those He loves. Though right now you probably have a "paradise lost" feeling, there is still opportunity to bring glory to God through your repentance and renewal.

But first... are you ok? Are you in any danger?

We all stumble and fall. The idea is not to allow it to stop us from getting back up and moving forward again. The enemy would love nothing more than to watch you remain on the ground where you aren't a threat to him. Confessing and repenting is good. Now you must ask God to strengthen your armor. Get back into the word of God and praying. We aren't perfect people but God has given us the information to continue moving and fighting. Always keep your eyes focused on Christ in front of you. If you look back or to the sides, you are only going to fall down again.

I'd suggest reading Ephesians for a start. Its not too long either so you can probably do it in one sitting. But make sure you read it for understanding... not just for the sake of reading.

May I ask why you do not want to talk to your mentor?

I strongly repented. But I fell. What do I do?:(Apparently, you and the Apostle Paul have something in common:

Romans 7:14-8:2 - "We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

You could not do better than the above counsel(s) 365, and L.L pointed to Romans which is my stronghold where it concerns the battle with sin.

These are the BIBLICAL principals whereupon we learn to get the victory.

What do I do?

Remeber 1Jn 1:9 "If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just for forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Get back in the fight.:)

Cause its personal.:rolleyes:

I totally get that. Your mentor should be someone you trust enough to share anything with though, especially those dark skeletons. These are not things that we are meant to take on solo. James 5:16 says: "Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

Your brothers and sisters in Christ are not here to judge you, but to help you up.

Cause its personal.:rolleyes:Brad, I though this exact same thing until God convicted me otherwise.

James 5:16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

You can't receive the Help God wants to give you by answering those prayers of a righteous man unless that man knows what to pray for. Also keep in mind that the word "man" represents all of us cause in my case some of the righteous people God had praying for me, were female as well.

I also want you to read the addition to my testimony while you were gone. The whole thread is in my last line of my signature but here is the link to the specific part I want you to read cause keeping it personal means you can't get the help that God is trying to get to you through the people He's send your way. Here's the link:

http://bibleforums.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1737682&postcount=14

edit: I see that Hisleast also posted this scripture... that's because this scripture has helped so many Brad... and you will be helped if you are honest with yourself by being honest with us. That resistance is not from God cause confession is FREEDOM and satan doesn't want you to be free. he wants to keep those chains wrapped so tightly around you that you can't move... just by opening your mouth and telling another person or writing in this medium of a forum will loosen those chains enough that you can be ministered to directly.

Do you want to try to wiggle your way out of those chains, then continue to do it your way and not be honest with yourself and be open about your sin... the chains will just get tighter.

OR

Take the very "key" that will unlock those chains that bind you to your sin and open them up through the power of Jesus Christ as He uses us to help you Brad. But we can't be used if we don't know what to help you with... God sure does and is quite capable of tearing those chains from you right were you are sitting right now but many times He does not work that way... cause you may be picking and choosing what to give to him as I did for many years (see that testimony).

Confession Brad, it is an act of sacrifice that God asks for, to show Him and yourself that you are true and you are surrendering it all to Him to take from you.

What do you suggest I read? I havent read in months.

The times I have fallen and have had to get right with God and back on my feet this Ps. 40 below really spoke to me. Read that and when you are finished reading it here you might get a lot out of reading Psalm 139 too..a bit long for me to post here. Psalm 139 let's me know always of His love for me..no matter what..and no matter where I go.

Main thing is to know that God loves and forgives and the angels rejoice (as do we when someone starts to come back). We might even have a party..:) I'm not much of a cake baker; but someone here probably is. I can always get the roast ready or set the table. :D

Psalm 40

1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the LORD
and put their trust in him.
4 Blessed are those
who make the LORD their trust,
who do not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.
5 Many, LORD my God,
are the wonders you have done,
the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds,
they would be too many to declare.
6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire—
but my ears you have opened —
burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.
7 Then I said, "Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll.
8 I desire to do your will, my God;
your law is within my heart."
9 I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips, LORD,
as you know.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help.
I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness
from the great assembly.
11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, LORD;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
12 For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.
13 Be pleased to save me, LORD;
come quickly, LORD, to help me.
14 May all who seek to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace. 15 May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!"
be appalled at their own shame. 16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
"The LORD is great!" 17 But as for me, I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
you are my God, do not delay.

Hey, I see that in post #5..you said on this thread...

"What do you suggest I read? I haven't read in months."

And, so we have given you something to read above. So....:help: yourself and just "do it."

Granted that when you are away from the Word for a while it is easier to just avoid opening up the Holy book again. That is usually because we know that somehow the Spirit will reach us through the words of scripture and that can mean response on our part and changing things in our life. We are not going to just absorb the conviction like a sponge. But, you can do it if you choose to do it.

Praying you'll give it a go and at least read what we have suggested on this thread (see suggestions above) for starters. :pray:

I don't understand this. You have a mentor but you can't open up to them about "everything"? thats not a mentor thats just a mate.

Get your self open either with someone or with God because closing your sin in will only breed more sin.

I struggled with Masterbation for a very very long time and it took a massive step to actually open up with someone and get these issues discussed. Funnily enough... my mentor had struggled with the same thing and I got the best possible advice. Cut it off.... not litterally, but everything that can tempt you.

Easy to say, not easy to do but i promise you, you will feel 100% better. If you want to chat to someone completely impartial and someone who will not judge you for anything you do. Give me a shout.

Dear Brad, Is this what you really want? Do lies, deceit, pornography, and being egotistical make you feel better? Is this what you want your life to be about--deceit, meanness?? Then I hear where you are coming from and pray the wrongful spirits which bind you come out..in the Name of Jesus. And I pray that you will be peaceful and this anger will go from you. Having prayed that... then:

For what it is worth .you will be in my prayers..not because you are admitting to these blatant sins and doing so in what appears to be a very defiant way to all here..but because I know that God loves you and people here care for you. My God is up to the challenge you give Him.

Meanwhile if you do get to reading the scriptures..I am suggesting reading all of Luke, Chapter 15, three parables Jesus tells about what was lost and found.

It's not enough to say that we're done with sin. Because sin uses our flesh to trip us up.

We have to go on and consider our old man crucified with Jesus and regard that thing as dead. Because sin will always find its opportunity in our flesh, and so we have to enter into the fact that our old man was crucified with Jesus. 2000 years ago. Enter into the truth of that, and accept it for what it is, because God made the provision for that already.

Well if something is dead, it can't sin, right?

So, tomorrow, try this ... get out of bed, and step into Jesus ... imagine Him standing at the side of your bed, and just ... step into Him. If that sounds stupid to you, then maybe it does, but sometimes we have to do something that seems a little silly to us to get our minds to understand the truth and reality of it.

Because we are commanded to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust."

And then walk out the rest of your day, being aware of the fact that you are in Jesus, and He is going where you go, and doing what you do.

This isn't the "what would Jesus do" approach, but the "I am in Jesus right now, and He is here with me, living this day with me, all around me, and me in Him. Because He is my Friend who sticks closer than a brother and promised to never leave me nor forsake me" approach (except you can't fit that onto one of those nifty bracelets). ;)

And the flesh is going to lose its grip as you stay in Christ, as the two cannot coexist. :)

The way to get us back is to cause us to sin and it starts with temptation that we give into and then becomes sin. We all do it and as we fill ourselves with Jesus by reading the Bible, going to church, fellowshipping with other Christian's, participating in ministry, participating in Bible studies, allowing a fellow Christian(s) to pray "over you, receiving counseling from a pastor, listening to Christian music, watching only movies you'd watch with Jesus...etc. The ability for satan to temp us is reduced because his foothold within us is less and less because we are filled with Jesus more and more. We will never be able to stop satan's ability to temp us but it will be less as we fill ourselves (yourself) with Jesus Christ.

I think the Repent part was good. Stop beating yourself up about it and do better tomorrow. Everybody falls, the important part is getting up and trying harder. By trying harder, I mean trusting the Lord more and relying on him more. We can nothing on our own.

I think God is just bringing you to the end of yourself ... but he first has to show us what we are capable of, if left to our own faulty thinking and weakness of the flesh. Only God knows the difference between when we think we're at the end of ourselves, versus when we're really at the end of ourselves and have nowhere to look to but Him, because without Him, we can do nothing.

Don't stop praying, you're on the right track by knowing you can't do it without God. :)

GE 3:8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

Hello dearly loved one by God,

It can be very disheartening to fall and also to discuss very personal issues with another human. Asking for help openly is a good step and being very open and honest with God about your problem can help to kill some of the shame over it, and invite Him into your situation. Many times when we fall we hide from God like Adam and Eve, but God is still walking around and calling to us to come out and settle things with Him because He wants to help us. Lies can only live in the darkness and they lose their power when dragged into the light. No matter what your problem is and no matter how embarrassed you may be by it, continuing to invite God in and allowing Him to help you is the key. We must follow His directions though with our recovery as He alone knows how to really help us to fully recover from the inside out. When we go to the doctor we don't tell the doctor what prescription to give us, so trust that God's solution will work for you.

ISA 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

I really do feel for you, especially your last post, I know the agony of that kind of guilt. But as I've been encouraged by many here, I'll also try to encourage you. Keep praying the best that you can...God will even call you to prayer. Please try to find someone you can talk to and open up to completely. I'd be glad to listen as well and absolutely not judge. You need to get it into the light. I think there's a lot to be said for intercessary prayer...DON'T GIVE UP MAN!:

Read Ephesians 6:10-20 and then begin to do searches on the meaning of what that scripture means. You have to fight both defensively and offensively. Defense is for protection and when the battle has reached the mind you have to go on the offense with the Sword of Truth, which is the Word of God!

"In the Name of Jesus Christ, I order the spirit of lust to leave me alone and I declare that I am a child of the Lord Jesus Christ who died for my sins and I have put my faith in my Savior. I am saved and I have been bathed in His Blood, I stand on the Rock of Victory as Christ has defeated death. I have already won this battle and I have the authority through Jesus Christ and I order you, spirit of lust to go NOW! AMEN!

Read the Bible, pray, listen to Christian music, call the Christian friend, watch a Christian TV station...

Swing that Sword Brad, run satan through the guts and give it a good twist and pull it out. If the thoughts are still there, run him through again and again till the thoughts have gone away.

The battle remains in the mind if you do this and is only temptation. If you act on this temptation then that only means you didn't use the authority you have in Jesus and you allowed the temptation to breach your heart and then became a sin as you acted on the temptation. All satan can do is tempt ya, you decide if you let it remain temptation or you decide to let it become sin.

Day 1............:(Brad, don't let the guilt get to you cause that's what satan wants. Instead, get on your knees, give the sin to God so He can take it away, ask that Jesus be your strength... and most important of all, Praise the LORD!!!

satan is trying to drag you down, don't let him and when you loose a battle the war is still already won, you just have to stand in that Victory, dig in and open that Bible when the thoughts FIRST enter your head. If you don't... it'll be day one alot. I know I had many day 1's until I began to set myself up for success.

You got it. :pray: How else can we help you? Do you need encouraging Scripture? Convicting? Maybe some distraction?
